Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、泡数の物質を互に結合させてラミネート構造
体を形成する方法に関する。−態様において、本発明は
結合させる複数の物質に隣接する中間位置で挿入されて
いる少なくとも1枚の無線周波数[radio fre
quency (RF ) )増感(sensitiz
ed)結合用フィルムまたはシートを加圧下で加熱して
ラミネート構造体を形成することから成る。画工の態様
においては、損傷したラミネート構造体、あるいはまた
、連続繊維強化複合構造体を、前記の損傷したラミネー
ト構造体に隣接する中間位置に挿入されたRF増感結合
用フィルムまたはシートおよび損傷域に置いたパッチす
るとによって補修する。
多くの例において、ポリマーフィルムもしくはシートま
たはそれらの抱合体と同種または異種の(組成物または
構造上)フィルムもしくはシートとを、全集成体もしく
は集成体のある構成部分を加熱することなく貼合せるこ
とは技術的、経済的または重量の理由のために最も望ま
しいことであろう。熱の伝導性不良、熱変形もしくは分
解、および熱損失のため慣用の加熱方式は使用できない
接着剤結合の使用は、蒸気の閉じ込め、特殊の乾燥条件
、1層またはそれ以にの基材の不十分な湿潤および(ま
たは)接着、畠温度および熟成での化学的耐性と機械的
強度との不適合性によってしばしば複雑になる。さらに
、結合に伴う問題は、比較的高融点のエンジニアリング
樹脂およびポリオレフィンおよびフルオロカーgンのよ
うなポリマーの接着困難によって顕著になってくる。
前記の問題を克服するために、本発明ではラミネートお
よびRF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシートを含むラ
ミネートの製造方法を使用する。
結合用フィルムもしくはシートは、結合用フィルムもし
くはシートに誘電加熱増感剤(dielectrich
eat 5ensitizer )を添加して、結合さ
せる物質よりはるかに高い誘電損失率(dielec’
tric 1ossfactor)を結合用フィルムも
しくはシートに付与することによって、RF−増感性に
する。次い六RF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシート
を、結合させる物質に隣接する中間位置に挿入し、加圧
下で誘電RF場に曝す。RF−増感結合用フィルムもし
くはシートは、所望の溶融温度に選択的に加熱され、結
合される隣接物質と共に融合または焼結してラミネート
構造体を形成するであろう。
従って、複数の物質を互に結合させてラミネート構造体
を形成する方法が提供されることは極めて望ましいこと
であろう。また、損傷されたラミネート構造体、あるい
はまた、連続的の繊維強化複合構造体またはシートを損
傷されたラミネート構造体に隣接する中間位置に挿入さ
れたRF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシートおよび損
傷域に置いたパッチ物質を加圧下を加熱し、物質を互に
結合させ、そして、ラミネートS造を形成すること構造
体を形成する方法を提供することが本発明の目的である
。−態様において、結合させる物質に隣接する中間位置
に挿入したRF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシートを
加圧下で加熱してラミイード構造体を形成することが本
発明の目的である。
第二態様においては、損傷されたラミネート構造体に隣
接する中間位置に挿入したRF−増感結合用フィルムも
しくはシート、および損傷域に置いたパッチ物質を加圧
下で加熱することによってラミネート構造体を形成して
損傷ラミネート構造体あるいはまた連続的繊維強化複合
構造体を補修することも本発明の別の目的である。
本発明のこれらおよび他の目的並びに利点は、次の本発
明の詳細な説明から明らかになるであろう。
本発明によって、結合用フィルムもしくハシート(単独
ポリマーまたは複合体)に誘電加熱増感剤を添加し、結
合用フィルムもしくはシートをRF−増感性にし、結合
させる物質よりはるかにネート構造体を形成する方法が
提供される。
高い誘電、損失率を有するRF−増感結合用フィルムも
しくはシートは、結合させる物質と同じまたは異なる物
質から慣用の方法によって製造できる。RF−増感結合
用フィルムもしくはシートを、結合させる物質の間の中
間位置に挿入し、加圧下で誘電場に曝す。高い誘電損失
率を有するRF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシートは
、所望溶融温度に選択的に加熱され、そして、結合させ
る隣接物質と融合または焼結するであろう。最小の誘電
損失率を有する結合させる物質はRF−増感フィルムも
しくはシートに比較して著しくは加熱されない。結合さ
せる物質とRF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシートの
間に得られた結合がラミネート構造体を形成するであろ
う。
本発明は□、RF−増感結合用フィルムもしくけシート
または結合させる物質の製造用として使用される任意の
方法によって製造されたポリマー物質に広く適用できる
。かような好適なポリマー物質には、任意の方法によっ
て形成されたポリ(アリーレンサルファイド)が含まれ
る。一般に、かようなポリマーには、サルファイド(−
8)、ケトン(CO)および(または)スルホン(5o
2)結合を有する芳香族部分が含まれる。かようなポリ
マーの例にはU、8.3,354,129およびTJ、
S。
3.919,177の方法によって製造できるポリ(フ
ェニレンサルファイド)および硫化ナトリウムとビス(
p−クロロフェニル)スルホンとの反応によって製造で
きるポリ(アリーレンサルファイド/スルホン)が含ま
れる。ポリ(アリーレンサルファイド)は溶融性でなけ
ればならず、そして、線状または架橋していてもよい。
RF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシートまたは結合さ
せる物質の製造に使用するのに目下のところ好ましいホ
リマーハ、ポリ(フェニレンサルファイl、10))C
ビフェニレンサルファイ)”)、ボlJ(フェニレンサ
ルファイドスルホン)およびポリ(フェニレンサルファ
イドケトン)である。
本発明で使用するのに好適な誘電加熱増感剤には、ある
種の導電性カーボンブラックが含まれる。
かような導電性カーボンブラックの例には、キヤがット
社(Cabot Corporation)の商標名で
あるケラトジエンブラック(Ketjenblack)
 XC■、およびブラックパール(Black Pea
rl) 2000■および各種の金属酸化物並びに無機
物粉末が含まれる。
現在のところ好ましい増感剤は、約2〜約4チのフレク
オン■(Frequon) Z / B −10である
。フレクオン■は、約1μより小さい粒子寸法および約
400 m” / Iを超える表面積を有する約90チ
の結晶性ナトリウムアルミニウムシリケートゼオライト
およびポリ(アリーレンサルファイド)100重量部当
り約1〜約5部の量の約10重量%の導電性カーボンブ
ラックから成る。結晶性すトリウムアルミニウムシリケ
ートゼオライトの使用は、冷却の際これが部分を再吸着
するので有利である。
所望ならば、RF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシート
または結合させる物質中に、顔剥、安定剤、軟化剤、増
餡剤のような充填剤もしくは添加剤または他のポリマー
も存在できる。例えば、グラファイト、カーフ1ぐンブ
ラック、二酸化チタン、ガラス繊維、炭素繊維、金属粉
末、マグネシウム、シリカ、アスベスト、雲母などのよ
うな物質が存在できる。
本発明では、結合用フィルムもしくはシートに、結合さ
せる物質よりはるかに高い篩篭損失率を付与するために
RF’−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシート(単独ポリ
マーまたは複合体)を使用する。
RF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシートは、結合させ
る物質と同じ物質から慣用の方法によって製造できる。
結合させる物質が、RF−増感結合用フィルムもしくは
シートと異なる構造または異なる融点を有する場合には
、RF−増感結合用フイルムもしくはシートは、結合さ
せる異なる物質に等しい溶融温度を付与するために結合
させる物質および(または)増感させる物質のラミネー
トでもよい。
RF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシートは、結合させ
る物質に隣接する中間位置に挿入し、加圧下で誘電場に
曝す。RF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシートは、所
望の溶融温度に選択的に加熱され、そして、結合用ポリ
マー溶融体からの熱伝導によって加熱された結合させる
隣接する物質と融合または焼結する。誘電加熱増感剤を
含有しない残余の物質はあまり加熱されない。
ポリ(アリーレンサルファイド)樹脂と誘電加熱増感剤
とを使用し、慣用の方法でRF−増感ポリ(アリーレン
サルファイド)結合用フィルムもしくはシートを形成で
きる。このRF−増感ポリ(アリーレンサルファイド)
結合用フィルムもしくはシートを結合させる物質に隣接
する中間位置に挿入し、RF−増感結合用フィルムもし
くは・シートが結合させる物質と融合または焼結するよ
うな時間加圧下で訪電場に曝す。結合させる物質に隣接
する中間位置に挿入されたRF−増感ポリ(アリーレン
サルファイP)結合用フィルムもしくはシートは、一般
に約30秒〜約24時間、好ましくは約1分〜約2時間
の範囲内の時間誘電場に曝される。
RF−増感ポリ(アリーレンサルファイド)結合用フィ
ルムもしくはシートおよび結合させる物質は、結合用フ
ィルムおよび結合させる物質とを融合させることができ
る任意のRF−熱ガラスによって加熱できる。RF−熱
プレスの一例は、50ヘ 20 MR2L/ヤユラー交
差電磁界RF−ガラスである。RF−基因波数、強さお
よび刊類〔交差、分散または漂遊(stray) 磁界
〕は、物質、結合すべき要素の形状および寸法、結合用
フィルムの厚さおよび損失率に応じて最適化できる。
RF−増感結合用フィルムもしくはシートは、ラミネー
ト構造体に形成fきる任意の物質の結合に使用できる。
結合されるかような物質の例には、熱的に安定なポリマ
ー物質、ガラス、セラミックまたは石が含まれる。RF
−増感ポリ(アリーレンサルファイド)結合用フィルム
もしくはシートは、任意の方法によって形成された結合
用ポリ(アリーレンサルファイド)物質に対して特に有
用である。現在のところ好ましいポリマーは、ポリ(フ
ェニレンサルファイド)、/gJ(ヒフエニレンサルフ
ァイド)、ポリ(フェニレンサルファイドスルホン)お
よびポリ(フェニレンサルファイドケトン)である。結
合できる追加物質には、アルミニウム、鉄、チタン、銅
、およびクロムのような金属またはステンレス鋼を含む
鋼、および黄銅のような合金が含まれる。所望ならば、
例えばグラファイト、カーメンブラック、二酸化チタン
、ガラス繊維、金属粉末などを含む添加剤のような充填
剤または添加剤も結合させる物質中に存在できる。結合
されてラミネート構造体を形成する物質は、同じ物質ま
たは各種物質の混合物でもよい。結合させる物質は約A
、〜約24インチ、好ましくは約Y6〜約1インチの範
囲の各種の厚さを有することができる。結合させる複数
物質は、単一もしくは多層、フィルムまたはシートから
成っていてもよい。
本明細に記載したような本発明の範囲内で変法および改
良態様も可能である。当業者が本開示を検討すれば、簡
略化のため本明細書、では省略したが、操作の各種の工
学上の詳細が必要なことは理解できるであろう。
実施例 本発明の方法を使用して、2チのフレクオン■Z/B−
10(90%の結晶性ナトリウムアルミニウムシリケー
トおよび10チの導電性カーがンブラック)でRF−増
感させた10ミル厚さのMR−03#IJ(フェニレン
サルファイド)結合用フィルムを、厚さHa’の2枚の
ガラス繊維含有ポリ(フェニレンサルファイド)スタン
プ可能なシートの間に置いた。このRF−増感結合用シ
ートをスタンプ可能なポリ(フェニレンサルファイド)
シートに隣接する中間位置に挿入し、そして、5 Kw
%  20 MHzレヤラー交差電磁界RF’熱プレス
中に120秒間置装た。2枚のスタンプ可能なホlJ(
フェニレンサルファイド)シート間のRF−増感ポリ(
フェニレンサルファイP)結合用シートは溶融してラミ
ネート構造体を形成した。この結果は、ポリ(フェニレ
ンサルファイド)複合シー)tiRF −増感g !J
 (フェニレンサルファイド)結合用フィルムを使用し
てRF熟熱プレス中おいて結合させてラミネート構造体
を形成できることを証明している。

Claims (22)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)少なくともシートの一枚にポリ(アリーレンサル
    フアイド)樹脂が含まれる少なくとも2枚のシート、お
    よび該シートを互に結合させるために該シートの中間に
    在る無線周波(RF)増感結合用フイルムから成ること
    を特徴とするラミネート。
  2. (2)前記の結合用フイルムのみが無線周波増感されて
    おり、そして、該結合用フイルムが前記のシートに融合
    または半融合するような時間、前記のシートおよび該シ
    ートの中間に在る前記の結合用フイルムを誘電場に曝す
    ことによつて前記のシートを互に結合させたものである
    特許請求の範囲第1項に記載のラミネート。
  3. (3)前記の無線周波増感結合用フイルムまたはシート
    を、約30秒〜約24時間の範囲内の時間誘電場に曝す
    特許請求の範囲第2項に記載のラミネート。
  4. (4)前記の中間に在る無線周波増感結合用フイルムま
    たはシートが、ポリ(アリーレンサルフアイド)樹脂お
    よび誘電加熱増感剤の混合物から成る特許請求の範囲第
    1項〜第3項の任意の1項に記載のラミネート。
  5. (5)前記の誘電加熱増感剤が、結晶性ナトリウムアル
    ミニウムシリケートゼオライトおよび導電性カーボンブ
    ラックの混合物から成る特許請求の範囲第4項に記載の
    ラミネート。
  6. (6)前記の誘電加熱増感剤が、約1μより小さい粒子
    寸法および約400m^2/gより大きい表面積を有す
    る約90重量部の結晶性ナトリウムアルミニウムシリケ
    ートゼオライトおよびポリ(アリーレンサルフアイド)
    100重量部当り約1〜約5部の量の導電性カーボンブ
    ラック10重量部から成る特許請求の範囲第5項に記載
    のラミネート。
  7. (7)少なくとも1枚のシートには繊維がさらに含まれ
    、従つて、複合体を形成する特許請求の範囲第1項〜第
    6項の任意の1項に記載のラミネート。
  8. (8)前記の結合用フイルムに、ポリ(アリーレンサル
    フアイド)樹脂および繊維が含まれ、従つて、複合体を
    形成する特許請求の範囲第7項に記載のラミネート。
  9. (9)互に結合させるべき複数の物質が、約1/32イ
    ンチ〜約24インチの厚の範囲である特許請求の範囲第
    1項〜第8項の任意の1項に記載のラミネート。
  10. (10)前記のポリ(アリーレンサルフアイド)樹脂に
    、ポリ(フエニレンサルフアイド)、ポリ(ビフエニレ
    ンサルフアイド)、ポリ(フエニレンサルフアイドスル
    ホン)またはポリ(フエニレンサルフアイドケトン)が
    含まれる特許請求の範囲第1項〜第9項の任意の1項に
    記載のラミネート。
  11. (11)少なくとも1枚のシートに、熱安定性ポリマー
    、金属、ガラス、セラミックまたは石が含まれる特許請
    求の範囲第1項〜第10項の任意の1項に記載のラミネ
    ート。
  12. (12)前記の金属が、アルミニウム、鉄、チタン、銅
    、クロム、鋼、ステンレス鋼または黄銅である特許請求
    の範囲第11項に記載のラミネート。
  13. (13)複数の物質を互いに結合させてラミネート構造
    体を形成する方法において、無線周波増感結合用フイル
    ムまたはシートを、結合させるべき複数の物質に隣接す
    る中間位置に挿入し、前記の無線周波増感結合用フイル
    ムまたはシートが前記の複数の物質に融合または焼結し
    て該複数の物質を互いに結合させるような時間、前記の
    無線周波増感結合用フイルムまたはシートを加圧下で誘
    電場に曝すことを特徴とする前記の方法。
  14. (14)前記の結合させる複数の物質が、約1/32イ
    ンチ〜約24インチの厚さの範囲である特許請求の範囲
    第13項に記載の方法。
  15. (15)前記の結合させる物質に、熱安定性ポリマー物
    質、金属、ガラス、セラミックまたは石が含まれる特許
    請求の範囲第13項または第14項に記載の方法。
  16. (16)前記の金属に、アルミニウム、鉄、チタン、銅
    、クロム、鋼、ステンレス鋼、または黄銅が含まれる特
    許請求の範囲第15項に記載の方法。
  17. (17)前記の熱安定性ポリマー物質が、ポリ(アリー
    レンサルフアイド)樹脂である特許請求の範囲第15項
    に記載の方法。
  18. (18)前記の中間の無線周波増感結合用フイルムまた
    はシートが、ポリ(アリーレンサルフアイド)樹脂およ
    び誘電加熱増感剤の混合物から成る特許請求の範囲第1
    3項〜第17項の任意の1項に記載の方法。
  19. (19)前記の誘電加熱増感剤が、結晶性ナトリウムア
    ルミニウムシリケートゼオライトおよび導電性カーボン
    ブラックの混合物から成る特許請求の範囲第18項に記
    載の方法。
  20. (20)前記の誘電加熱増感剤が、約1μより小さい粒
    子寸法、および約400m^2/gより大きい表面積を
    有する約90重量部の結晶性ナトリウムアルミニウムシ
    リケートゼオライトおよびポリ(アリーレンサルフアイ
    ド)100重量部当り約1〜約5部の量の導電性カーボ
    ンブラック10重量部から成る特許請求の範囲第19項
    に記載の方法。
  21. (21)前記のポリ(アリーレンサルフアイド)樹脂に
    、ポリ(フエニレンサルフアイド)、ポリ(ビフエニレ
    ンサルフアイド)、ポリ(フエニレンサルフアイドスル
    ホン)およびポリ(フエニレンサルフアイドケトン)が
    含まれる特許請求の範囲第17項〜第20項の任意の1
    項に記載の方法。
  22. (22)前記の無線周波増感結合用フイルムまたはシー
    トを、約30秒〜約24時間の範囲の時間誘電場に曝す
    特許請求の範囲第13項〜第21項の任意の1項に記載
    の方法。
