Abstract

PURPOSE:A metal skin which is composed of cobalt matrix containing fine hard particles is formed on the surface of the metallic traveller to give a traveller for a spinning frame of heat and abrasion resistance. CONSTITUTION:A hard draw steel wire is used to form a horizontal or vertical traveller 1, 2. The traveller is subjected to electrodeposition in a plating bath to form, on the surface of the traveller 1, 2, a composite metal skin 3 of cobalt matrix containing fine hard particles of coprecipitating chromium oxide. The fine hard particles are preferably dichromium trioxide of less than 10mum in size and occupy 20-30vol% in the skin. The traveller has a surface of oriented tricobalt tetraoxide layer formed at 300-700 deg.C, consequently its excellent abrasion resistance causes no troubles such as seizing even in high speed running range.

Prior Art and its Problems Conventional spinning machine travelers are generally made of hard steel wire. However, in the above traveler, the spindle rotation speed is 20.00 Or, p, m, or more (current high speed rotation is] 5,00 Or, p, m, ~16,00 Or,
p, m, ) had the disadvantage that the traveler would seize early and fly off due to the increased frictional resistance between the ring and trape 2 and the rapid rise in frictional heat, making continuous operation impossible.

Means for Solving the Problems The present invention solves the above problems by forming a traveler of a desired shape such as horizontal or vertical shape using hard steel wire as a raw material, and then coating the surface of the traveler with metal used for composite plating (dispersion plating). Using copal ((!o), which has excellent oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and mechanical properties at high 01λ as a matrix, Cr2O with a diameter of 0Pffl or less as eutectoid dispersed particles)

By forming a dispersion plating film of hard fine particles with a cobalt matrix of 5 to 40 μm thick on the surface of the steel traveler, the high-temperature frictional heat generated between the traveler ring during high-speed spinning can be avoided. The present invention provides a high-temperature, high-wear-resistant traveler for a spinning machine that has excellent wear resistance at temperatures of 300° C. or higher.

In addition to chromium oxide, the hard particles used in the composite plating include silicon carbide, tungsten carbide, titanium carbide, etc. In addition to these particles, lubricating substances such as L, Mo5es c + Teflon, etc. can also be used. Further, if the hard fine particles become large, it is difficult to uniformly disperse them, and this will have a large effect on the distribution state in the film and the surface roughness of the film, and will affect the adhesion of the particles, so the upper limit was set at 10 μm.

Further, if the content of hard fine particles in the matrix (OL) is less than 1 5 voe%, the anti-wear effect will be small, and if it exceeds 85 voe%, it will be difficult to disperse the particles.

Furthermore, the thickness of the hard composite plating layer was set to 5μ to 15μ, but if it is less than 5μ it will be too thin and the effect will be small and the wear resistance will be insufficient, and if it is more than 40P the effect will be saturated and the processing time will be longer. , it becomes economically meaningless.
