Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title traveller with its contact with yarns representing point contact, excellent in heat releasing effect and wear resistance by putting the surface of a metallic traveller circle to satin finish and the providing the resultant surface with a Cr-C alloy plating layer of specified hardness. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a metallic traveller circle at least to come into contact with yarns is put to satin finish, and the resultant surface is provided with a Cr-C alloy plating layer with a hardness HV of 1200-1600, thus obtaining the objective traveller. It is preferable that said deposit be produced from a plating bath containing chromic sulfate as the main component and potassium formate as complexing agent.

Conventionally, in a spinning machine traveler used in a spinning machine or a yarn twisting machine, the operating conditions are such that the yarn passes through the yarn passage section at high speed, or
Under operating conditions where the yarn contains special additives, wear resistance of the yarn passage section is required. Therefore, in order to improve this abrasion resistance, the surface of the yarn passing section is usually hardened.
Travelers with chrome plating or satin chrome plating are used.

However, due to faster operating conditions and specialization of the yarn being spun, in the conventional chrome-plated or matte chrome-plated travelers mentioned above, the yarn passing section wears out quickly, resulting in a decrease in yarn quality, yarn fuzz, and yarn breakage. There are problems in that it is not possible to obtain particles that are stable when the traveler is turned on, resulting in a short life and an increase in the number of steps required to replace the traveler.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems, and includes applying a satin finish treatment to at least the surface portion of a metal traveler for a spinning machine that comes into contact with the yarn, and applying a complex treatment to the surface of the satin air layer containing chromic sulfate as a main component. A Cr-C alloy plating layer obtained from a bath using potassium formate as an agent has a film thickness of 5 μ to 30 μ, and a surface roughness of 1.5 μ to 3.5 μ (reference length 0 .8nwn), and further applied a hot air layer to increase the height of the Cr-C alloy plating layer from Hv1200 to Hv.
1600, the problem was solved by improving the abrasion resistance of the yarn passage section.

The thickness of the Cr-C alloy plating layer is set to 5μ to 30μ.If it exceeds 30μ, the processing time becomes longer and there is a problem in terms of workability, which is undesirable. If it is less than 5μ, it is not sufficient in terms of life, so it is not desirable. This is because wear resistance cannot be obtained.

As described above, the present invention provides a thread passing portion by applying a matte finish to at least the surface portion of the traveler circle that comes into contact with the thread, and providing a Cr-C alloy plating layer with a high hardness of Vickers hardness of Hv1200 or more on the surface. has an uneven surface with a surface roughness of RZ=1.5μ to 3.5μ, and the contact with the yarn is point contact with a hard point with a smooth surface, resulting in an excellent heat dissipation effect. Compared to conventional satin chrome-plated travelers, the coating has higher hardness and wear on the thread passage area is significantly reduced.
This invention has excellent effects such as high wear resistance and long life.
