As shown in FIG. 1, the belt conveyor has an endless conveyor belt 3 between a driving roller 1 and a driven roller 2.
The conveyor belt 3 is supported by a carrier roller 4 on the outbound side and a return roller 5 on the return side. Then, the object to be conveyed is placed on the conveyor belt 3 at a lower position on the forward path side and conveyed.
Although the conveyed objects are dropped from the drive roller 1 at the upper position, some of the conveyed objects adhere to the surface of the conveyor belt 3 and continue to move toward the return path side. A belt cleaner 6 is appropriately arranged near the drive roller 1 on the return path side, and most of the objects to be conveyed that have adhered to it are removed, but a considerable amount of objects to be conveyed still remains attached to the conveyor belt 3, and this The conveyed object is removed from the conveyor belt 3 at the return roller 5 and
fall downwards. The falling amount of the transported object is considerable, so if the transported object is an expensive item, it cannot be ignored in terms of cost, and it is also unfavorable in terms of the working environment.

The amount of falling objects at this return roller 5 portion increases as the contact area between the conveyor belt 3 and return roller 5 increases, so the amount of falling can be reduced by reducing the contact area. Therefore,
Generally, a return roller 5 having a cylindrical outer peripheral surface as shown in FIG. 2 is used, but as shown in FIG. Annular protrusions 8 made of rubber are protruded from every other corner. However, this causes severe wear on the annular protrusion 8.
There is a problem that the life of the return roller 5 becomes short.

For this reason, the present invention provides circumferential protrusions made of rubber on the outer periphery of the roller body, and a ceramic piece is integrally fixed to the outer circumferential surface of the protrusions. To reduce the falling of conveyed objects and to provide a return roller with almost no wear due to ceramic pieces.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5. Components that are substantially the same as those described in FIGS. 1 to 3 are designated by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will be omitted. The roller body 7 is made of a steel pipe, and a ring-shaped body 9 made of rubber and having a substantially trapezoidal cross section and projecting extensions 9a on both sides of the inner circumference is fitted onto the outer periphery of the roller body 7, and is integrally fixed with an adhesive. The annular body 9 constitutes the protrusion 8 . The extending portion 9a increases the adhesion area with the outer periphery of the roller body 7 and ensures strong adhesion. On the outer periphery of the annular body 9, rectangular plate-shaped ceramic pieces 10, for example, 10 mm x 10 mm x 1.5 mm thick, are arranged in a line and are integrally fixed to the annular body 9.

Specifically, as shown in FIG. 7, a groove 13 is formed on the outer periphery of the annular body 9, and as shown in FIG. The ceramic pieces 10 are arranged in a row on top and are fixed together to form a flexible ceramic strip. To make this ceramic strip 12, ceramic pieces 10 are laid in a mold, an active rubber adhesive is applied to the surface by applying heat and pressure, and a thin raw rubber plate is placed on top of it. Apply heat and pressure to vulcanize the rubber plate and bond the rubber plate and the ceramic piece together to form a plate-shaped body, which is then bonded to the ceramic piece 1.
It is sufficient to cut it into strips along the 0 row. The ceramic strip 12 thus formed is fitted into the groove 13 on the outer periphery of the annular body 9 with the ceramic piece 10 facing outside as shown in FIG. 8, and fixed together with an adhesive 15. This eliminates the need for bonding the ceramic and rubber, which is difficult to bond with an adhesive, and allows the ceramic piece 10 to be firmly and integrally fixed to the annular body 9, making it easier to manufacture the entire return roller.

On the other hand, the annular body 9 is fitted onto the roll body 7 and fixed with an adhesive 14. Note that instead of forming the annular body 9 separately from the roll body 7 and fixing it with the adhesive 10 in this way, the roll body 7
is placed in a mold having a recess corresponding to the annular body 9, rubber is injected into the recess, and heat and pressure are applied to integrally form the annular body 9 on the outer periphery of the roll body 7. It may also be formed by baking.

In the above embodiment, the ceramic pieces 10 are rectangular plates arranged in a single row, but ceramic pieces 10 of various shapes may be arranged in multiple rows, and ceramic pieces 10 of various shapes may be arranged in a plurality of rows. It is also possible to arrange the ceramic pieces closely together in the form of a strip.

Further, although only the annular body 9 is shown as the protrusion 8, the protrusion 8 may be formed in a spiral shape on the outer periphery of the roller body 7, and furthermore, the protrusion 8 discontinuous in the circumferential direction may be formed mutually in the circumferential direction. It is also possible to arrange a plurality of rows with shifted positions, and in either case, by integrally fixing the ceramic piece 10 to the outer periphery of the protrusion 8, abrasion thereof can be prevented.

According to the return roller of the belt conveyor of the present invention, as is clear from the above description, a circumferential protrusion made of rubber is provided on the outer periphery of the roller body, and a ceramic piece is integrally fixed to the outer circumferential surface of the protrusion. Since the contact area with the conveyor belt is reduced by the protrusions, it is possible to reduce the falling of adhered conveyed objects, and the ceramic pieces on the outer circumferential surface of the protrusions prevent wear. The return roller has a longer lifespan, which is extremely effective in practice. Further, the ceramic piece can be fixed to the outer surface of the ridge very easily, which makes it easy to manufacture the return roller as a whole, and the ceramic piece can be fixed extremely firmly to the outer surface of the ridge. Therefore, there is no risk of inadvertent peeling off during use.
