Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of crack into the mother material of a blade by following method in which the mother material of a band saw blade is caused to be as smoothly as possible bent in a arcuate curve, thereby causing remarkable bending stress not to be generated at the edges of the blade tips. CONSTITUTION:A band saw blade 1 is composed of endless band like steel- mother material 2 which is provided with cutting tips 3 at certain interval on one edge of said blade, and protrusions 4 are formed between the cutting tips. The protrusions 4 are equipped on one side or on both sides of the mother material 2 and are made of synthetic rubber material or flexible metal. By this protrusions formed, the band saw is stretched to a pulley. When the band saw is driven, uniform curvature is formed for the band saw, and its life is prolonged.

とより切断用チップそのものは図示の実施例では比較的
単純なブロック状の形状を示したが、この4のが既に公
知の種々の構成をとることはもとよp差し支えない。 
このような帯鋸刃1に対しその母材2の側面には切断用
チップ3の設けられている関に張出1s41構成するも
のである。 この張出部4は後述するようにタイヤTの
駆動を受ける際に平均した曲率を形成する為のものであ
るから、少なくとも母材における彎曲する内側に形成さ
れていればよい、 しかしながら母材のバランス等管と
る為に母材の両側に設けることももとよp差し支えない
−この張出s4は種々の形1sヲとり得るものであって
、以下それKついて説明する。 tず第二乃至第四図に
示す実m例では母材2に対し別の部材を張設したもので
あシ、例えば合成ゴム等のパッドあるいは可撓性を有す
る金属材料等會適宜用いる吃のである。又例えば第四図
に示すように1張出部4の断面形状が切断チップに近づ
くに従ってその厚みを減少させ、円滑な彎曲を助長する
ような構成とすることがより好ましいものである。 更
に第五図に示す実施例はこのような張出部4′f:設け
る時に切PA液のガイド溝5を形成したもので&1シ、
このようKする時にはチップの部分に積極的に切削液が
導入され、優れえ切れ味を示すものである。 又第六図
に示す実施ガは張出部4を形成するにあ九って機長の短
冊状に何本か形成するようにし九もので6や、   ’
□これによってより一層円滑な母材の彎曲が期待できる
ものである。 もとよシ短冊状にするにあたって完全に
個々の張出部4を独立させずに母材側において連続して
いるような歯mt有するもの(第六図右側に図示するも
のンであっても差し支えない。 以上述べた実施例は母
材2に対し張出部4を形成するにあたって全く別藻材を
張設した実施例であるが、次に述べる第七図に示す実施
例は母材2そのものtエンボス加工し、侵出部4を形成
したものである。 この張出部は必ずしも一つであるこ
とt限定されず1多数形成されていてももとよシ差し支
えないのである。
