Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔技術分野〕 この発明は、表示装部用ディジタルコントラスト調節回
路に関する。
〔背景技術と問題点〕
近年マイクロコンピュータの発達は目ざましく、それに
伴ってハンドベルトコンピュータの研究が盛んに行われ
ている。このようなハンドベルトコンピュータは例えば
第１図に示すようニ、アドレスバス１、データバス３、
おヨヒコントロールバス５を介して、中央処理装置（Ｃ
ＰＵ）９、データの高速転送を行うダイレクトメモリア
クセスコントローラ１３、メインメモリ１５、キーボー
ドユニット１７を制御するキーボードコントローラ１９
、マイクロフロッピーディスクユニット２１を制御する
フロッピーティスフコントローラ２３、モデム３１を制
御スるコミュニケーションコントローラ３３、およびデ
ィスプレイユニット３５を制御するディスプレイコント
ローラ３７が接続されている。
前記ディスプレイユニット３７は、一般に電力消費の少
い液晶で構成されている。このような液晶ディスプレイ
ユニットのコントラストの制御は従来、第２図に示す如
く、液晶ディスプレイユニットのコントラストコントロ
ールライン４１をポテンショメータ３９を可変にするこ
とによりコントラストコントロールライン４１上の電圧
を変化させていた。
しかしながら、このような方法では、ノイズが集シやす
く信頼性が著しく低いという欠点があった。しかもこの
コントラスト調節はユーザがひんばんに行うため、信頼
性の高いコントラスト調節が望１れていた。
〔発明の目的〕
この発明は、上記欠点を除去し、簡単な構成で、信頼性
の高い表示装餠用ディジタルコントラスト 〔発明の概要〕 この発明のディジタルコントラスト訴節回路は、キーボ
ードに設けられたコントラストコントロールキー信号に
応答してアップカウント又はダウンカウントするＵＰ／
ＤＯＷＮカウンタを設け、とのカウンタのディジタル出
力値を液晶ディスプレイユニット内に設けられたＤ／Ａ
コンバータに供給し、Ｄ／Ａコンバータがディジタルコ
ントラスト量をアナログコントラスト量に変換する。
〔実施例の説明〕
第３図はこの発明の一実施例を示すブロック図である。
同図において、キーボード４３はコントラストを訓１節
する図示しない２つのキーを有している。第１のコント
ラストキーはコントラストを強ぐするキーであり、この
キーを押し続けると、連続的にコントラストが強くなる
。
第２のコントラストキーはコントラストを弱くするキー
でアり、このキーを押し続けると連続的にコントラスト
が弱くなる。第１コントラストキーの押下によって生じ
たＵＰ信号又は第２コントラストキーの押下によシ生じ
たＤＯＷＮ信号はＵＰ／ＤＯＷＮカウンタ４５のそれぞ
れＵＰ入力端子およびＤＯＷＮ入力端子に印加される。
ＵＰ／Ｄ　ＯＷＮカウンタ４５は前記キーボード４３か
らＵＰ信号が入力されたときＵＰカウントをし、ＤＯＷ
Ｎ信号が入力されたときＤＯＷＮカウントを行い、その
出力信号をＤ／Ａコンバータ４９に供給する。Ｄ／Ａコ
ンバータ４９はＵＰ／ＤＯＷＮカウンタ４５から出力さ
れたディジタルカウント値をアナログ量に変換し、液晶
モジュール４７内のコントラスト回路５１に供給され、
コントラストの調節が行われる。
なお、上記実施例では、ハードウェアのアップダウンカ
ウンタを用いたがソフトウェアでカウンタを構成しても
良い。
さらに上記実施例の説明ではこの発明をハンドベルトコ
ンピュータの表示装餘に適用した場合について述べたが
、他のいか々る表示装信においても適用し得る。

Claims (3)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. （１）第１のキーと第２のキーを有し、前記第１のキー
    が押されたときインクリメント信号を出力し、第２のキ
    ーが押されたときデクリメント信号を出力するキー入力
    手段； 前記キー入力手段からの出力信号を受取り、前記インク
    リメント信号に応じてディジタル量のカウント値をイン
    クリメントし、前記デクリメント信号に応じてディジタ
    ル量のカウント値をデクリメントするカウント手段；お
    よび 前記カウント手段から出力されたディジタル量のカウン
    ト値をアナログ量に変換するＤ／Ａコンバータとを備え
    たことを特徴とする表示装置用ディジタルコントラスト
    調節回路。
  2. （２）前記カウント手段は、前記キー入力手段からのイ
    ンクリメント信号又はデクリメント信号に応答してカウ
    ントを行う中央処理装置と；および 前記カウント値を格納する格納手段であることを特徴と
    する特許請求の範囲第１項記載のディジタルコントラス
    ト調節回路。
  3. （３）前記カウント手段は、アップダウンカウンタであ
    ることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第１項記載のディジ
    タルコントラスト調節回路。
