Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は分泌液を吸収するため皮膚と接触させ
て用いるための吸収パツド、例えば、使い棄てお
むつ、衛生ナプキン、包帯等に関し、特に、普通
の圧力を受けている時尿等の液体を吸収し保持す
る能力を改善した吸収パツドに関するものであ
る。
従来、種々の重合体や樹脂、例えば米国特許第
3425971号、第3661815号に記載された加水分解し
た澱粉−ポリアクリロニトリルのグラフトした共
重合体を含む吸収パツドを用いることが提案され
ている。このような重合体は吸収パツドの尿吸収
能力を増大すると云われている。
本発明は、皮膚と接触させて用いるための吸収
パツドにおいて、皮膚と接触させるための液体浸
透性表側層、該表側層に周縁を接着して袋を形成
する液体不浸透性裏側シート、および該袋内の吸
収材から成り、該吸収材に、(イ)澱粉１部（重量）
当り0.6〜２部（重量）の合体した、加水分解し
たポリアクリロニトリルを含有する酸性の形態の
完全に加水分解した澱粉−ポリアクリロニトリル
のグラフト共重合体と(ロ)無刺激性、無毒性の水溶
性塩基材料とを、塩基材料が共重合体に対し１：
４〜１：１（重量比）の割合で含む固体細片の混
合物を有する吸収パツドを提供する。
本発明の吸収パツドは、普通の圧力即ち、0.21
Kg/cm2（3p.s.i.）までの圧力を受けている時、加
水分解した澱物−ポリアクリロニトリルのグラフ
トした共重合体を塩基材料を添加せずに用いる従
来の同様な吸収パツドに比しはるかにすぐれた液
体（尿等）吸収能力を有するものである。
その理由は、主として、本発明に使用する吸収
材が、酸性の形態の澱粉−ポリアクリロニトリル
のグラフト共重合体と無刺激性の水溶性塩基材料
とを、１：４〜１：１の重量比で混合した固体細
片を有することにある。すなわち、斯る固体細片
は上記混合比率を有するが故に、水溶液中（使用
中）で中性ないし弱塩基性を呈する。よつて、皮
膚と接触させて用いるための吸収パツドに用いる
場合には、米国特許第3661815号に記載されたよ
うな、塩基材料を含有しない従来の吸収剤を用い
る場合に比して、はるかに大量に使用することが
可能となる。そして、固体細片からなる吸収剤を
大量に使用すれば、吸収能力が大巾に向上するば
かりでなく、吸収パツドの形状安定性が向上する
から、吸収パツドが受ける通常の圧力、例えば
0.14〜0.21Kg/cm2（２〜3p.s.i）の圧力を受けてい
る際にも吸収パツドの変形に伴う吸収能力の低下
を生じ難い。
以下図面を参照しつつ本発明の実施例を詳細に
説明する。
第１図の実施例では、吸収パツドは繊維材料の
表側の層１０を有する。その繊維材料は木綿又は
ステープルレーヨン等の紡織用の長いセルロース
繊維と木綿リンタ又はパルプ又は紙繊維のような
短いセルロース繊維との混合物とするのが好まし
い。長い紡織用繊維は大体長さが12.7〜50.8mm
（1/2〜２インチ）、短い繊維の長さは6.4mm（1/4
インチ）以下とし、重量は表側層全体の繊維の75
〜98％とする。表側層全体の重量は12〜44ｇr/m2
（10〜40グラム／平行ヤード）である。表側の層
として望むならば他の織布又は不織布を用いるこ
ともでき、特に紡織用の長さの繊維の接着帯材を
用いることができる。この接着帯材はバインダを
間隔を置いた区域のパターンを描くように分布さ
せバインダ区域以外の中間の区域ではバインダが
無く液体浸透性である。パツド使用中に使用者の
皮膚に触れる表側層１０の機能は、濡れている時
も乾燥している時も一体性を維持する充分な凝集
力を有して使用後きれいに完全に皮膚から取除く
ことができるとともに、充分な開口と多孔質を有
し分泌液が容易に浸透してパツド本体に吸収され
るようにした平滑で軟い無刺激性の表面を設ける
にある。表側層１０の繊維は、濡れ易い性質と表
側層の浸透とを強めるために陰イオン界面活性剤
のような濡れ易くする薬剤で処理することができ
る。
表側層１０はその周縁を可撓性の水不浸透性裏
側シート１２に接着する。裏側シート１２はポリ
エチレンのようなプラスチツク材料のフイルム又
はシート又は防水紙のシート形態でよい。表側層
と裏側シートとは吸収パツドの本体を入れる袋又
は容器を形成している。表側層１０の裏側シート
１２に対する接着は、裏側シートが熱可塑性であ
る場合は周縁部をヒートシール又は溶着により行
い、或いは在来の接着剤を用いて行う。第１図の
実施例では、この本体は、でん粉１部（重量）当
り0.6〜２部（重量）の酸の形態のグラフトした
加水分解ポリアクリロニトリルを有する完全に加
水分解した酸の形態のでん粉・ポリアクリロニト
リルグラフト共重合体と、重炭酸ナトリウムのよ
うな水溶性の無刺激性、無毒の固体塩基性材料と
の固体の細かく粉砕した混合物１６から成るもの
である。塩基性材料とグラフトした共重合体との
比は１：４〜１：１（重量）の間で変動し、共重
合体と塩基性材料との混合物の総量は、表側層と
裏側シートとの両方を含む吸収パツドの重量の２
〜80％の範囲で変動する。最も良い結果を得るた
めのグラフトした共重合体と固体の塩基性材料と
は米国標準ふるい系列の「16番ふるい」を通るこ
とができるように細かく砕いた形態のものであ
る。混合物１６の本体は飛散して失われるのを防
止するため予め加湿し或いは加湿することなく、
表側層１０又は裏側シート１２の対向する面のい
づれかに撤布その他の方法で施す。又、塩基性材
料を少量の水に溶かし、それぞれ水溶液の形態で
例えばスプレーにより、表側層１０又は裏側シー
ト１２の何れかの表面上の酸の形態の固体の加水
分解したグラフト共重合体粉末の層の表面に施す
こともできる。乾燥すると、塩基性材料は共重合
体の固体粉末と密接に組合されて所望の場所に固
体の細かく分割された形態で付着している。本体
の全厚は２〜６mmである。
本発明の第２図に示す他の実施例では、吸収パ
ツドの本体１８は、例えば繊維化したパルプ、木
綿リンタで作つた詰綿、何層かのクレープ紙、又
は細かく切つたポリウレタン気泡材片のようなセ
ルロース繊維の多孔性帯材又は心綿のような吸水
性の細片材の形態であり、本体１８は約288m2当
り4.5〜９Kg（2880平方フイート当り10〜20ポン
ド）の重量を有し、細かく分割された混合物１６
は本体１８全体に他の細片又は繊維の中に分布
し、混合物１６が分散する前に本体１８は約288
m2当り4.5〜９Kgの重量を有する。第１図の実施
例の場合、混合物１６の総量は吸収パツド全体の
重量の２〜80％である。混合物１６は細片材料で
本体１８を形成する前又は後で該細片材料に混合
又は分散することができる。例えば、ポリウレタ
ン気泡材を細かく切つた細片に混合物１６を混合
した後本体１８を形成するか或いは繊維材料の塊
に混合物１６を混合した後細帯に形成する。
代替的に、例えばセルロース繊維のような繊維
材料２０の多数の層を積層し第３図に示すように
本体１８を形成することもできる。第１図の実施
例を作る場合と同様なやり方で、各層を水で湿ら
せ、或いは湿らせないで、混合物１６を各層の間
又はその表面に撤布により施すことができる。
第４図の実施例では、本体１８を形成した後表
側層１０を施す前に、混合物１６を本体１８の表
面に撤布することによつて、完全加水分解しグラ
フト化した酸性の形態の澱粉−ポリアクリロニト
リル共重合体と固体の水溶性塩基材料との固体細
片の混合物を本体１８の上面に集中させることが
できる。或いは又、表側の層１０を本体１８に取
りつける前に表側層１０の内面に施してもよい。
いづれの場合にも、飛散による損失を防ぐために
表側の層を湿らせるか塩基材料を溶かすために少
量の水を用いることができる。
本発明の第５図に示す５番目の実施例では、啓
体細片の混合物１６は前述のように本体１８の底
面に施すか又は裏側シート１２を本体１８に取り
つける前に裏側シートの上面に施すことにより本
体１８の底面に集中させることができる。
第３図乃至第５図の実施例では、混合物の重量
は吸収パツドの総重量（表側層および裏側シート
を含む）の２〜80％とする。
水溶性塩基材料としては重炭酸ナトリウムが安
価で無刺激性、無毒性のため好ましいが、加水分
解しグラフト化した澱粉−ポリアクリロニトリル
共重合体の酸性の形態のものと水溶液中で6.5〜
9.0のPHを作ることができる固体の水溶性の無刺
激性、無毒性塩基材料ならば任意のものを用いる
ことができる。その例として、燐酸ナトリウム、
デイソデイウムフオスフエート、硼酸ナトリウ
ム、重炭酸カリウム、デイソデイウムフタレート
等がある。
本発明の吸収パツドは、普通の圧力例えば0.14
〜0.21Kg/cm2（２〜3p.s.i）の圧力を受けている
時、例えば米国特許第3661815号に記載された従
来の加水分解した共重合体を有する同様な吸収パ
ツドや、共重合体又は塩基材料を有しない同様な
吸収パツドに比し、尿等の分泌液を吸収する能力
が30〜40％向上する。この吸収能力は幼児の体重
の圧力を受ける使い棄ておむつの場合に特に重要
な特性である。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １ 皮膚と接触させて用いるための吸収パツドに
    おいて、皮膚と接触させるための液体浸透性表側
    層、該表側層に周縁を接着して袋を形成する液体
    不浸透性裏側シート、および該袋内の吸収材から
    成り、該吸収材に、(イ)澱粉１部（重量）当り0.6
    〜２部（重量）の合体した、加水分解したポリア
    クリロニトリルを含有する酸性の形態の完全に加
    水分解した澱粉−ポリアクリロニトリルのグラフ
    ト共重合体と(ロ)無刺激性、無毒性の水溶性塩基材
    料とを、塩基材料が共重合体に対し１：４〜１：
    １（重量比）の割合で含む固体細片の混合物を有
    する吸収パツド。 ２ 前記液体浸透性表側層を長いセルロース繊維
    と短いセルロース繊維との混合物からなる繊維材
    料で構成してなる特許請求の範囲第１項記載の吸
    収パツド。
