In the conventional manufacturing method for decorative veneers that artificially express wood grain patterns, multiple sheets of bleached or dyed thin veneers are laminated with an adhesive and bonded by pressure to obtain an assembled flitch. This laminated flitch was sliced to create decorative veneers.

The method for manufacturing a decorative veneer of the present invention includes partially applying an organic solvent to one side of a material veneer, and then compressing the material veneer to cause the organic solvent-applied portion to cave in and form a recess on one side of the material veneer. The process includes a pretreatment process, an assembly process in which a plurality of veneers of the material having recesses formed on one side are stacked and pressure-bonded to obtain an assembled flitch, and a slicing process for slicing the assembled flitch.

- That is, this invention utilizes the phenomenon that when pressing a material veneer partially coated with an organic solvent, the organic solvent-applied portion caves in to form an arbitrary pattern of recesses in the material veneer. This changes the wood grain formed on the surface of the decorative veneer, creating a wood grain that more closely resembles that of natural wood species.

Such a material veneer is pretreated as shown in FIGS. 1(A) to C). First, as shown in FIG. 1(A), an organic solvent is partially applied in a line on one side of the raw material veneer 1. In the same figure (A), four organic solvent application lines 2 are shown. Next, as shown in FIG. 13 (13), the adhesive 3 is uniformly applied to the entire surface of the opposite surface of the raw material veneer 1 coated with the organic solvent using a roll coater 4. After that, the same figure (C)
As shown in FIG. 2, a plurality of veneer materials 1 are stacked with release paper 5 interposed therebetween and pressed together with a flat mold 6.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the thus pretreated material ``veneer l'' is depressed at the organic solvent coated portion on one side, and a recess 7 is formed. Next, as shown in FIG. 4, the pretreated raw material veneer 1 is stacked in a concavo-convex mold 8 and bonded by pressure to form an assembled flitch 9, which is then sliced from a predetermined direction. As a result, a decorative veneer 10 as shown in FIG. 5 is obtained. This decorative veneer 10 has a wood grain pattern 11 that is rich in jagged variations and is similar to the wood grain of natural wood species, corresponding to the recesses 7 formed on one side of the pretreated decorative veneer manufacturing method. becomes.

In addition, it is preferable to use a material veneer 1 that is as flat as possible, and when using a corrugated material veneer, it is important to avoid the following: Cracks may occur.Waviness of the material veneer is generally caused by the fact that when the material veneer is dried in a warm air dryer after decoloring and dyeing, the end side dries quickly and becomes completely dry. .

Waving of a corrugated material veneer can be alleviated by applying water to the corrugated portion.

このため、第6図に示すような修正装置を使用する。For this purpose, a correction device as shown in FIG. 6 is used.

As shown in FIG. 7, the corrugated material veneer 1 is conveyed on a vacuum conveyor 12, and during the conveyance process, the corrugated raised portion 14 of the material veneer 1 hits the sponge roll 13. Raised portion 1 by water soaked in
4 gets wet. Then, by feeding the material veneer 1, the raised portions 14 of the material veneer 1 compress the sponge roll 13 one after another to discharge water, as shown in FIG. The discharged water permeates into the raised portion 14 and softens the undulation.
