[Detailed explanation of the invention] Technical issues The present invention cuts out irregular parts of the front edge or rear edge of a veneer veneer (hereinafter referred to as veneer), as well as defective parts such as joint cracks, and adjusts them to an effective width. This invention relates to a veneer sorting device that transports cut irregular portions and defective portions (hereinafter referred to as scrap veneers) in a direction substantially perpendicular to the fibers of the veneers and discharges them from the conveyance surface during conveyance to the next step.

Prior Art Conventionally, as a veneer sorting device that discharges waste veneers during conveyance, an incoming conveyor and an outgoing conveyor that support both ends of the veneer in the fiber direction are operated on the same conveyance/support surface, as shown in Fig. 1. , and are connected at appropriate intervals, and a pressure conveyor that presses the central part of the veneer in the fiber direction downward from the conveyance surface in the same direction as the conveyance direction of the veneer is bridged between the incoming conveyor and the outgoing conveyor. There was a device that consisted of

That is, when sorting wide veneers or thin veneers with flexible bonds between fibers, a single-stage pressurizing conveyor is used to form a curved portion downward at one location on the top surface of the veneer in a direction approximately perpendicular to the fibers. It is practically difficult to provide enough rigidity to pass through the gap between the inlet conveyor and the outlet conveyor by simply letting the veneer pass through the gap between the inlet conveyor and the outlet conveyor. It had the disadvantage that it was discharged outside.

Purpose The present invention was invented in order to solve the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks, and its purpose is to prevent the gap between the incoming member and the outgoing member, especially for wide veneers and thin veneers. It provides sufficient rigidity to pass through the gap provided, and reliably separates waste veneers that are smaller than the gap width, thereby saving labor in the process of sorting and removing waste veneers, and improving operating efficiency. It is an object of the present invention to provide a sorting device for veneers that can be obtained.

FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the veneer sorting device according to the present invention, in which the veneer S is carried in as a carry-in member arranged in a direction substantially orthogonal to the fibers of the veneer S and transported in the direction of the arrow in the figure. The conveyors 1a and 1b abut on both lower surfaces of the veneer S in the fiber direction and support the veneer S. Then, carry-out conveyors 2a and 2b as carry-out members are substantially on the same plane as the carry-in conveyors 1a and 1b, and are driven to carry in the direction of the arrow with a gap E formed in the same direction for discharging the scrap veneer Sa from the conveyance surface A.

The veneer veneer S is cut by a cutting device (not shown) into a scrap veneer Sa consisting of irregular edges, etc. at the front and back, and an effective width veneer Sb.
b, the fibers are transported in a direction substantially perpendicular to the fibers. For example, waste veneer Sa or pressure conveyor 3
When placed on the pressure surface B of a, 3b, and 3c, the third
As shown in the figure, the pressure surface B of the pressure conveyors 3a, 3b, 3c is the conveyance path surface A of the carry-in conveyors 1a, 1b.
Since it is located lower, the pressure conveyor 3a
3b and 3c press down both end faces and the central part of the scrap veneer Sa in the fiber direction, and press at least 2
By forming at least three curved points W (in this embodiment, three points), rigidity is imparted in a direction approximately perpendicular to the fibers of the veneer, and the scrap veneer Sa is transferred to the conveyor 1a, 1.
It is held and conveyed by b.

However, as shown in Fig. 4, the width of the scrap veneer Sa in the direction approximately perpendicular to the fibers is less than the width l of the gap E.
At point a in the figure, the holding between the carry-in conveyor 1a and the pressure conveyors 3a and 3b is released.

On the other hand, the effective width veneer Sb is also conveyed by the carrying-in conveyors 1a, 1b and the pressure conveyors 3a, 3b, 3c in the same way as above.
The fibers are sandwiched by the fibers to form three curved portions W, thereby imparting rigidity in a direction substantially orthogonal to the fibers.
When the effective width veneer Sb reaches the gap E, the front edge Fb of the effective width veneer Sb passes through the gap E because the width in the direction perpendicular to the fibers of the effective width veneer Sb is greater than the width of the gap E. The effective width of the veneer Sb is the loading conveyor 1a, 1b and the pressure conveyor 3a, 3b, 3c.
It is held between the two, providing continuous rigidity.

In other words, since the effective width veneer Sb continues to be given rigidity in the direction substantially perpendicular to its fibers, the front edge Fb does not sag between the gap E and is connected to the unloading conveyor 2a.

Therefore, in this embodiment, three curved points W are formed on the veneer S on the inlet conveyors 1a, 1b and the pressure conveyors 3a, 3b, 3c, which are substantially perpendicular to the fibers, and provide rigidity, which is effective. The width veneer Sb can be transferred to the carry-out conveyors 2a, 2b without being discharged through the gap E, and the waste veneer Sa can be discharged through the gap E.

In particular, when sorting thin veneers with flexible bonding strength between fibers or long veneers in the direction of the fibers, which tend to bend due to their own weight, conventional equipment bends at one point in the center in the direction perpendicular to the fibers. In order to form the point W and impart rigidity, it was substantially difficult to impart sufficient rigidity to the veneer to allow it to pass through the gap E, but in this example, the veneer was pressurized. Conveyors 3a, 3b, and 3c are arranged in three rows, and curved parts W are formed at three locations perpendicular to the fibers of the veneer to provide extremely high rigidity, several to several tens of times higher than that of conventional equipment. In the case of an effective width veneer Sb having a width substantially perpendicular to the fibers having a width l or more of the gap E, the gap E
On the other hand, if the waste veneer Sa is less than the width l of the gap E, it is possible to discharge the waste veneer Sa to the outside of the conveying surface through the gap E, and the waste veneer Sa
It is possible to sort out Sa and the effective width single plate Sb.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, three curved points W are formed, but in the present invention, for example, by removing the pressure conveyor 3c shown in FIG. 3 or the carry-in conveyor 1c shown in FIG. 6, two curved points W can be formed. As explained above, the present invention is a veneer sorting device having the configuration described in the claims for utility model registration. For long veneers that tend to warp due to their own weight, we curve them in at least two locations in a direction substantially perpendicular to the fibers, effectively sorting them into scrap veneers and effective width veneers to give them rigidity. This can help save labor in sorting work and improve operating efficiency.
