閉することにより過給容量を制御する可変用量型
の過給機と、過給圧が所定値以上になつたときに
排気ガスが過給機のタービンをバイパスするよう
に開くウエストゲートバルブとを備えた過給機付
エンジンにおいて、エンジン回転数と過給圧を検
出し、過給圧が異常上昇したときに上記容量切換
バルブの異常と判断する故障検出手段と、上記故
障検出手段の作動時に上記ウエストゲートバルブ
を強制的に開く開弁手段とを設けたことを特徴と
する過給機付エンジン。 A variable displacement supercharger controls the supercharging capacity by opening and closing a capacity switching valve depending on the engine rotation speed, and when the boost pressure exceeds a predetermined value, exhaust gas flows through the turbocharger's turbine.
