Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet head requiring no adhesion or welding, by forming a nozzle plate in a state held to a predetermined position by injection molding and performing the insert molding of the molded one in a head main body. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle plate 1 is formed by injection molding and, at the molding time of the nozzle plate 1, said nozzle plate 1 has a notch or hole 12 for accurately locating said nozzle plate to the center of an ink flow passage 21 and to fix the same. By this notch or hole 12, integral insert molding of the nozzle plate 1 is enabled in a head main body 2. A charge electrode 4 for applying charge to an ink droplet and a support 22 are simultaneously formed when the nozzle plateis subjected to insert molding and the charge electrode 4 is fixed so as to be fitted to the support 22 under pressure.

Conventional drum wheel inkjet recording devices use inkjet heads to eject ink droplets, but conventional infusier heads are constructed by adhering a nozzle plate to a head body. Therefore, the adhesive strength is weak, and the adhesive swells with the ink liquid and cannot maintain its strength over a long period of time. Further, there is a drawback that the adhesive tends to flow into the orifice (nozzle hole) and other unnecessary areas. Furthermore, methods of joining by welding or diffusion have also been proposed, but these methods require a large amount of thermal energy and are easily deformed by temperature. There were drawbacks such as not being able to obtain sufficient accuracy.

A notch or hole 12 is provided for use in positioning the nozzle plate. 2 is a head main body, and an ink flow path 21 is formed in the head main body 2. Therefore, in the present invention, the nozzle plate 1 as described above is integrally formed with the head body 2 by injection molding or the like, and therefore, the nozzle plate 1 is formed during molding as shown in FIG. , a notch (Fig. (q)) or a hole (Fig. (b)) 12 for accurately aligning and fixing the nozzle plate at a predetermined position, that is, the center of the ink flow path 21.
This allows the nozzle plate l to be integrally insert molded into the head body 2. Reference numeral 4 denotes a charging electrode for imparting an electric charge to ink droplets, and 22 is a support that is formed at the same time as the insert molding of the nozzle plate as described above, and the charging electrode 4 is press-fitted into the support support 22 and fixed. . There is a cylindrical hole 3 in the center of the column 22, which is formed after the pin that positioned the nozzle plate in a predetermined position is removed when the nozzle plate is insert-molded into the head body.

The nozzle plate is positioned within the cavity 201 using the fixing pin 31 and the positioning notch or hole 12 of the nozzle plate 1, and as is well known, a molding material is injected into the cavity to attach the nozzle plate 1 to the head body. It is integrally formed within 2. After injection molding, when the fixing pin 31 is pulled out, a hole remains in the support column 22.

The charging electrode 4 is press-fitted and fixed into the pillar 22 formed as described above. In this way, the number of head assemblies is reduced, and its dimensional accuracy and mounting accuracy are stably ensured. However, if the nozzle plate is simply insert molded into the head body, it may be molded as shown in FIG. 4 and the support column 22 may be omitted. Note that the nozzle plate does not necessarily have to be circular, and may be square or any other shape.
