Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove an ink knot at the outside of an ink injection nozzle by a method wherein a capillary groove, a space thereof decreases with the increase of a distance from the nozzle, is formed outside the nozzle, and an inwall of the capillary groove is made up so that an angle of contact to ink is specified. CONSTITUTION:A liquid chamber 3 for ink 2 is built up in a cylindrical nozzle holding member 1, and a nozzle plate 6 with a nozzle 5 is fixed to a stage section 4. A capillary groove 11 communicating a space section 8 and an outer circumferential surface is made up at an end surface of a flange 7 unified with the member 1. The capillary groove 11 is decided in a shape that a space of the groove decreases with the increase of a distance from the nozzle 5. After the ink 2 is injected, an ink knot 10 is formed in the space section 8 at the outside of the nozzle 5. After a fixed time passes, the ink knot 10 is absorbed to the capillary groove 11, and changed into an ink meniscus 13. The meniscus 13 moves downward and falls because an inwall 12 is set so that the angle of contact with the ink 2 is 90 deg. or less in the capillary groove 11.
