Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely prevent an backward flow of ink and to permit smooth supply of ink by a device wherein a valve member forcedly opened and closed in response to changes in pressure due to a pressure changing means is provided between an ink layer of an ink head and an ink supply source. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recording device wherein an image is recorded using minute ink droplets, valve members 15, 16 for preventing a backward flow of ink are provided between an ink supply source and an ink layer 7 of an ink head 1 from which ink droplets are jetted. Further, a pressure changing means 14 comprising a tubular pressure changing chamber 17 and a tubular piezoelectric body 18 is provided between the valve members 15 and 16. Then, a signal from a pressure change driving source 19 is used to vary volume of the pressure changing chamber 17 through the piezoelectric body 18, so that ink pressure within the pressure changing chamber 17 is varied to open and close the valve members 15, 16. As a result, a backward flow of ink is prevented positively.
