Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は内部浸透利を有する吸収製品に１！１１する。
超吸収材を用いて吸収製品を作ることによＶ襲吸収製品
のかさを大幅に減らすことがｒｉＪ曲になる。
しかしながら、おむつや衛生ナプキン等の吸１１ハッ品
に超吸収材を利用するという試みはこれ壕で限られた範
囲でしか成功していない。超吸収材を吸収？Ｍ品中に「
固定」又は固着するのＦｉ７ｚがな力・ＰＩｆしいこと
である。米国特許第３．９７　Ｌ３７９号には超吸収材
の層が別の吸収性構造材と一緒に折りたたまれるか又は
巻回されている吸収製品が開示されている。Ｗ、２に、
超吸収材はそれ自体の重さの数百倍もの液体を吸収かつ
保持するが、液体はその中になかなか容易に浸透して行
かないという欠点を有する。吸収製品に於いて超吸収材
が液体をその中に浸透させる能力を有しないまま液体を
吸収して急速に膨罰すると、液体自体が「ブロック」を
形成して超吸収材の残りの部分又は吸収製品中の他の吸
収材を吸収の目的のために利用することが阻害されてし
まう。
超吸収材を吸収製品に利用する新規な方法は超吸収材を
繊維構造体中に混入して上記の「ブロック」の問題を回
避する方法に集中している。米国’ｒ’ｊ　ｉ’ｌ’　
ｍ　４．１０５，０３３　号Ｋ　ハｆｆｌ吸収材ｔ　Ｌ
ｎ維Ｔｎ＆体中に７１Ｌ人するための方法が示されてお
り。また米国特ｔｉ’ｒ’第４，２２６，２３７号には
、超吸収材を分１ｉｉさぜるのが可能な、吸収性繊維と
泥炭コケから成るより改良されたＩｌｔ’ｔ　Ｋｉｔ栂
造休が体載されている。
本発明に超吸収材を吸収製品中に利用するための新規な
手法を用いている。超吸収材が「ブロック」の形成を阻
止するように分散されている新規な繊維構造体を得よう
とする試みではなく、本発明は単独で用いた場合には「
ブロック」を起す可能性のおる超吸収材を含む公知の繊
維月利を用いることが出来る。本発明の吸収製品に於い
ては、超吸収材はＮＡ維構造体若しくは発泡体中に分散
されていても良いし、又は単独若しくは他の成分と共に
フィルム中に存在する形であっても良い。本発明によれ
ば、液体を超吸収材まで運ぶために内部浸透手段が吸収
製品中に設けられている。この浸透手段は超吸収材を含
む複数のそれぞれ別個の層の周囲を包囲しているか又は
この層のまわＶに折り曲げられている。
吸収性繊維材料を折り曲げて吸収製品を形成−ノ゛る方
法は米国特許第２，９５２，２５９号に示されている。
しかしながら、超吸収材や内部浸Ｊへ手段については全
く言及されていない。
本発明は複数の別個の超吸収材層ｔ：’）＋ｉする１ｙ
（収製品に関する。この吸収製品は司教ｊ区杓層の周囲
及び間に巻回された浸透手段を備えている。この浸透手
段は浸透層及び、この浸透層と超吸収材層との間に設け
られた液体移送手段から構成されている。超吸収材層に
は繊維層中若しくは繊維層上に分散された司教収物質１
発泡材中に分散された司教収Ｉ、又は超吸収材から一部
又は全部構成されているフィルムから成ることが出来る
。「ｏｒｌｏｎ　Ｊ（商−）敷布地、泥炭コケ又は木材
パルプ組織Ｉ料を上記の浸透層として利用することが出
来る。
上記液体移送層はバルブ組織材料で構成することが出来
る。液体不透過性月料から成る部分的外包が、吸収製品
の主たる表面の一方以外のすべての面のまわりに配設さ
れる。使い捨ておむつの場合、使い捨ておむつの外側表
面にプラスチックフィルム剰の部分的外包を密着して、
おむつを補強し、１吏用時に於ける粘着デープ片の取付
性を改善することも可能である。
本発明は超吸収材を新規な方法で利用している吸収製品
に関する。本発明によれば、司教収Ｉを含む吸収Ｆｊ１
品中において液体を柊！ｌｅｇさせるために内部浸透手
段が利用される。
第１図に概略図示した通り、参照番号１０で全体を示し
た本発明に係る吸収製品の一害施態様ｔま、超吸収材を
混入した、少なくとも２オにの別個の層１２を含んでい
る。さらに、この吸収Ｊｌ１４１品は、超吸収材層の周
囲及び間に巻回されて８字に設けられた浸透手段１４を
含んでいる。本発明ｔ」、超吸収層の形状や構成に係る
ものではなく、司教１１！’、　４１を含有する種々の
材料を利用することが出来る。（［１（えば、超吸収材
層＃′ｉ繊維層又は発泡層中に混入した超吸収材により
構成することが出来る。超吸収材を繊維層又は発泡体中
に混入する方θ」；１余り重要ではない。なぜなら、液
体が超吸収材層を１″■通する必要はなく、上記超吸収
層の表面が液体を１１１ｂ。

明によれば、超吸収材層は灯りｐｂ、収利で／−！部父
ｔｅｌ一部形成されたフィルムから成る仁とが出来る。
本発明の吸収テリ品に於いては、ＩＱ　１１７　製品の
内１ｉｆｔ　ｆ；Ｔ変手段が液体を超吸収材まで運ぶの
で、Ｒｉ　ｌｉ！ｔ　１１１４　ｔ１層が液体を浸透さ
せたり、移送する必′！７．ｔｉｔ、ない。
従って、司教収Ｈ層内で司教収利が膨ｌしても、この司
教収利が吸収製品内の液体の移動を妨けることにならな
い。司教収祠が吸収製品のどこかで１）ＹｆＴ’３Ｌ、
たり又は飽和に至ると、内部浸透手段は吸収すべき液体
を隣接するまだ吸収作用のある司教収Ｉまで単に移送す
るだけでらる。
以下に記載する試験データは内部浸透手段を有する本発
明の吸収製品の優位性示すものである。
Ｗ、１図に示したような吸収製品を備えた３種訪のおむ
つ措造体の吸収能力を試験した。実際のおむつ使用状態
をＭ現する趣旨で採用した試験法において、おむつを夫
々等身大の人形の回りに固定し、試験液を人形からおむ
つ中に１５０ミリリツトルのアリコート（ａｌｉｑｕａ
ｔ）で、各アリコート間に２０分ずつ間隔をおいて注入
する。試験液の漏れが観察された時点で試１ｉＡを中止
する。試験の前後でおむつの重歌を測定して、おむつの
吸収した試＃液の屋を決定する。おむつはそれぞれおむ
つ本体と共押出成形されたダイスクイーン（Ｖｉ　５ｑ
ｕｅｅ口）ポリプロピレン製フィルムの裏張り（１７，
５インチＸ１２インチ、約４４．５　ｃｍ　Ｘ　３０．
５　ｃｍ　）と１００％型押９坪量０，７オンス／平方
ヤード（約２３．７１７ｍ２）のポリプロピレン製布地
から成るはｙ同じ大きさの着眼材とを具備するものであ
った。司教収利層はヘンケル社により製造された坪量８
グラム／平万フィート（約８．７１７ｍ”）のヘンケル
布地Ｓ６１’から成るものであった。このヘンケル布地
は組織拐料から成る２枚の層の間に、セリウムイオンを
触媒として用いて製造した粉末状の澱粉−アクリロニト
リルグラフト共重合体である８６Ｐ−１４７を設けて構
成されている。Ａ　Ｉのおむつでは、着眼シートと裏張
シートの間に設けたおむつの吸収体が２枚のヘンケル超
吸収性繊維層８６Ｐで構成され、内部浸透手段は備えて
いない。吸収力は７２．８グラムであった。Ａ２のおむ
つで１１表りｊとシートと裏張シートの間に入れた吸収
製品が、間に組織材料の８字形浸透層を有する、同じヘ
ンケル布地から成る２枚の層から１１４成されていた。
篇２のおむつの吸収力は１６５．９グラムでβつだ。
４３のおむつの場合、裏張シートと表張シー１の間に入
れた吸収製品が同じヘンケル超吸収繊維層２枚と［０ｒ
ｌｏｎＪ　（商標）布地から成るＳ字形の内部浸透層と
で（Ｒ成されていた。Ａ３のおむつの吸収力は１７９．
１グラムであった。
第２図は第１図ｖｃ１ｇｔ略図示した本発明の吸収製品
の一実施態様を示している。この実施態様に於いては、
鈴照許号２０で示した吸収製品が２枚の超１吸収１層２
２と、浸透層２６及び液体移送手段２Ｂから成る内部浸
透手段２４とから構成されている。液体を浸透させる性
質の良好なものである限り、どんな材料で上記の浸透層
２６を構成しても良い。この材料が良好な吸収力を備え
でいたり、応力下において液体を保持する能力を有する
必狭ｔｒｉない。この浸透層として使用するのに好７ｉ
ａな材ＰＩ　ｔｉｒｏｒ　ｌ　ｏｎ　Ｊ　（商ＬＷ４　
）　！Ｍ布地、　ハルツ組織材料又は泥炭コケである。
液体移送手段を浸透層と司教収利層の少なくとも主たる
而との間に設けることが出来る。上述の実施例ではヘン
ケル布地の組織層が液体移送手段として作用する。上記
の液体移送手段２８が液体を浸透層から司教収わ層へ移
送させる。中間に液体移送手段を用いることは内部浸透
手段すなわち流路を常に孕けておくのに役立ち、超吸収
材層に液体を吸収させるために液体移送手段が液体を保
持している間に浸透層が液体を吸い込むのを可能にする
。
吸収製品２０は主要な面３２１ｋ及び３２　ｂ　、　１
ｌｌｌ縁３４及び図面中には示されていないが端縁を有
する。吸収製品は液体不透過性Ｉ料の部分的外包３０を
備えることが可能で、この部分的外包が１．％収製品の
少なくとも一方の主安な而３２ＰＬと側にイ、３４を煩
い、さらに両端縁を覆うことも＋＋Ｊ能である。この部
分的外包を設けるのが吸収製品の４１・冒ｌυ７にとっ
て好ましい。なぜなら、液体不透過層層が１νに成製品
中に液体を保持し、液体が司教収利Ｊ−１に吸収される
のに時間的余裕を力えるからでるる。さらに、この外包
を有する構成を用いているＩｙ（収製品では、上記の液
体不透過層が変色や他の吸収Ｉ料、例えば上記吸収製品
中に用いられている丙破砕パルプの組織を隠ぺいし、さ
らに濡れた場合に超吸収材がゲル状になるが、それをカ
ブセル化して隠ぺいする。この好適な吸収製品の部分的
外包で覆われていない側の主要は面３２ｂ上に着眼層３
６を設けることも可能である。
第２Ａ図は第１図に概略示した本発明の吸収製品の他の
実施態様を示している。参照番号２０ａで全体的に示し
た吸収製品は超吸収材層２２にと内部浸透手段２４１Ｌ
とを有する。この浸透手段は浸透層２６＆及び液体移送
手段２８ａを有する。
この実施態様に示したように、液体移送手段は浸透層と
同じ大きさの層を含むことが出来る。この１’ｆＹ成で
は、浸透層を２層の液体移送手段の間に設けることが可
能で、この多層複合構造体をＳ字形に司教収利層の周囲
及び間に巻回することが出来る。この浸透手段の構成と
本発明の吸収製品の構成を第２図に示されたものと違っ
ている。即ち、第２図では、液体移動手段が浸透層と各
超吸収材層の主″Ａ￥な而の間に設けられている。第２
図において油照番号３０及び３６で示したものに相当す
る液体不透過層３０及び着眼層３６を上記実施態様に組
み入れることも可能である。衛生ナプキンとして用いる
場合、この吸収製品は下着に貼着するための粘着テープ
片３８をさらに具備することが出来る。
第３０は本発明の吸収製品の他の実施神様を示し、これ
は参照番号４０で全体的に示されている。
第３図に断面で示した吸収製品は司教収月層４２と、こ
の司教収拐層の周囲及び間にｅ字状に巻回した浸透層４
６から構成された内部浸透手段４４とを備えている。こ
の浸透手段Ｖｉ浸透層４６と液体移送手段４８とから成
る。図示した具体例に於いては、浸透層を超吸収材層の
周囲及び間に巻回するに先だって超吸収材層がそれぞれ
組織材料のような液体移送手段中に包み込壕れている。
上ＲＬの液体移送手段による包装と浸透層の巻回が完了
すると、浸透層が超吸収材層の主要な而を横切って伸び
、液体移送手段が浸透層と司教収月層の谷主要面の間に
配設される。浸透層と液体移送手段とをこの超吸収材層
に隣接して配置することによって司教収拐層に対する内
部浸透手段を設りる。
所望により、本発明の吸収製品のこの実施態様に、第２
図及び第２Ａ図に関連して説明したような着眼ｌＰｔ３
６及び部分的外包３４を組み入れることも可能である。
本発明において用いる司教収制は、自身の乾燥重量の１
０〜３０倍、好ましくは数百倍の液体を吸収する能力を
有する種々の水性コロイド又は水性ゲル形成能を有する
物質から成っている。多くの司教収利が当業界において
知られており、本発明をま超吸収材の化学的又は物理的
構造や、超吸収材が他の材料、例えば、繊維と一緒に繊
維層中に入れられた複合材の構造に係わるものではない
。
超吸収材は急速に膨罰して液体がさらに通過するのを阻
止する傾向がらるので、殆んどの最終製品への応用例に
おいて司教収拐は繊維や発泡体のような他の材料と混用
されて、司教収月を分散して液体の流通を阻止しないよ
うにしている。本発明の吸収製品は別個に設けた複数の
超吸収材層を含んでいるので、繊維層又は発泡体層を折
ったり又は１１１０〕°たりしても、超吸収材がこの繊
維層又は発泡体層から離れて丸まってしまうような事が
防止される。さらに、本発明の吸収ＪＪ１．ｌ１品の構
成は超吸収材層を折りた＼むより簡単な製造方法を提供
し、さらに浸透層中で使用する浸透層の長さが；米国特
許第３，７９１，３７９号に示されたようｆｒ、払りた
たまれた形状で使用されるものよりも、短かくで済む。
第４図は本発明の吸収製品を用いた使い捨ておむつを示
している。本発明の吸収Ｗ、シ品は衛生チンキン類や包
装等のさまざまｆＬ構造体並びにｆＩｎｈのおむつ構造
体に於いて利用することが出来る。第４図は参照番号５
０で全体を表したおむつ構造体を示している。この構造
体は外Ｉ１１１ＬＩＭ　５２　、この外１則層に取り付
けた本発明に係る吸収製品１０及び粘着テープ片５６と
から措成さノしでいる。このおむつはその内側面を形成
する着眼層５８をさらに含むことが出来る。
第５図に示した通り、本発明の吸収製品が上述の第２図
及び第２Ａ図（又は第３図）中の吸収」４品２０（又は
４０、第５図中に図示せず）に関連して示した液体不透
過性材料の部分的外包３０全具備している場合、全体と
して参照番号６０で示したおむつの外」り層６２が液体
に対して不透過性である必要はない。好ましい構成にお
いて、吸収製品の外１’ｌｌ１層６２と外包３０が両方
ともプラスチック製フィルムで形成される。おむつ中に
吸収製品を固着することにより２枚のプラスチック製フ
ィルムが固定され、その結果おむつの外側層を補強する
ことになる。粘着テープ片６６を上記の２層構造のプラ
スチック製積層シートからより容易にはく配することが
出来るので、プラスチック製フィルムの外側層を破って
粘着テープ片を使用不能にし、かつおむつの内部吸収Ｉ
が外に出て来てしまったりすることもなく、おむつを使
用のために拡り゛ることが出来る。さらに、粘着テープ
片をきれいにｔまかずことが出来るので、おむつをしっ
かりと止めることが出来る。外包３０を備えた本発明の
吸収製造の構成の場合、おむつからゲル状になったパル
プや超吸収材が漏れ出ることもない。
第６図は第５図のおむつをその外側の面から見た図で心
り、外側層６２が部分的外包３０に隣接している個所で
該外側層が補強されしかも粘着テープ片６６の付は変え
が容易になっているのが示されている。図示した好まし
い興＃ｉ態様において、おむつには足に当たる部位に弾
力性のらるギャザ６８が設けられている。
なお、以上の説明及び図面は例示的なものであって限定
的なものとして解釈してはならない。本発明の精神及び
範囲から逸脱すること蕪く他の変更や改変が可能である
。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. （１）少なくとも２枚の別個の超吸収材層並びに該超吸
    収材層の周囲及び間に配設された浸透手段とから成る吸
    収製品。
  2. （２）前記浸透手段が浸透層及び該浸透層と各超吸収材
    層との間に設けられた液体移送手段とから成る特ｎ′Ｆ
    請求の範Ｆ！ｆＪ第１項記載の吸収製品。
  3. （３）　前記超吸収材層が超吸収材を混入した繊維層か
    ら成る特許請求の範囲第１項又１よ第２項記載のｐ、Ｉ
    区製品。
  4. （４）　前記超吸収層が超吸収材を混入した発泡材から
