Description

【考案の詳細な説明】 この考案は野球又はソフトボール用のグローブ、ミツト
等の捕球具に関するものである。
グ爾−ブ、ミツト等の捕球具を構成する皮革生地は、こ
れを手の平によくフィツトさせ、また捕球時の手の平の
屈曲変形に追従して捕球面を変形せしめるために柔軟で
あることが望ましい。
しかし、一方において、長時間の激しい使用に耐えるた
め、また型部れを防止し、捕球時に無用の折れシワが発
生しないよう、ある程度の腰の強さも要求される。
一方、皮革生地の素材である天然牛皮は、牛の背筋に沿
った部分は比較的硬く、また腹部は比較的柔かい。
また背筋に沿った部分でも部分的に柔軟性が均一でない
。
そのため、均質的な柔軟性と、適度な腰の強さの両方の
性質を兼ね備えた良質な素材は、■頭分の天然牛皮から
２〜３割程度しかとれない。
この考案は捕球面を形成する皮革生地に簡単な加工を施
すことによって上記の性質を兼ね備えた捕球具を提供す
ることを目的としている。
以下、この考案を添付図面に基づいて説明する。
図面は野球用グローブの例であって、その掌部分を形成
する１枚の皮革生地１の捕球面に多数の凹点２を点在的
にはＳ゛均等密度で配列しである。
各凹点２はプレス加工等により圧縮型付されたものであ
り、その型付された部分は硬化されるが、ある凹点２と
その周囲に隣接する他の凹点２との間の生地部分は非圧
縮部３として残存される。
なお、凹点２の形状は円形、角形等任意であるが、その
凹部２は通常の捕球中心となる部分よりや）広い範囲に
形成することが望ましい。
また、第１図に示すように、親指の付根部や小指の付根
部等を横切り、捕球面から掌部分の端部に達する配例で
凹点２′を設けてもよい。
以上のように、この考案に係る捕球具はその掌部分を形
成する一枚の皮革生地の捕球面に皮革生地の圧縮型付に
より多数の凹点を点在状に形成したものであるから、硬
質の皮革生地の場合は各凹点を屈曲起点として折れ曲り
易くなり、その屈曲起点たる凹点が捕球面に多数存在す
ることになるので、全体的に柔軟性を増すことができる
。
凹点が屈曲起点となるということは、例えていうと、厚
紙に不連続な折目を形成した場合にその厚紙を折曲げる
と各折目間も折目に従って折曲げられる現象と似ている
。
唯、この考案の場合、凹点が点在状に配列されているの
で、折曲げの方向性が無く、捕球時に要求される球形に
沿った形状に必要且つ任意の部分で素早く折曲げること
ができる。
また、凹点によって全体的な柔軟性は増すが、凹点自体
は圧縮型付によってで硬化されるため、皮革生地の腰の
強さは適度に維持される。
また、軟質の皮革生地の場合は、上記と同様に凹点自体
の硬化によって腰が強くなる効果がある。
よって、この考案によれば、皮革生地に何ら疵をつける
ことなく、その性質を改良することができるので、原皮
の利用範囲が広くなる効果がある。
また均質的な柔軟性を得ることができるので、手の平の
屈曲によくフィツトし、また適度な腰の強さがあるので
、捕球時に無用のシワが発生せず、耐久性が向上し、型
組れを防止できる効果がある。
また、圧縮型付されるのは凹点の部分だけであり、四点
の周囲においては非圧縮部分が残存されているので、捕
球面全体が硬化することはなく、均質的な柔軟性と適度
な腰の強さは、捕球面の全体において発揮され、捕球時
の手の平の屈曲によく追従してボールを包み込むことが
でき、ボールの曲面に沿って密着する部分が増大するの
で、落球やハンブル等の失策を防ぐことができる。
なお、この考案における凹点は皮革生地に疵が存在した
り色むらがある場合にも、これらを目立たなくする効果
もある。

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 捕球具の掌部分を形成する一枚の皮革生地の捕球面に、
    皮革生地の圧縮型付により多数の凹点を点在状に形成し
    、且つある凹点とその周囲に隣接する他の凹点との間の
    生地部分を非圧縮部分として残存せしめたことを特徴と
    する野球又はソフトボール用捕球具。
