Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a media with sufficient untwine, decoloration and soft finish by furnishing plastic grains each formed into a specific size with a number of pores at its surface zone, sinking the virtual specific gravity below one, and thereby relieving shocks to be applied to fibers. CONSTITUTION:To manufacture plastic grains, mix 20-50wt% of unsaturated polyester resin with 30-10wt% of vinyl chloride resin, followed by well agitation. A mix of 49-30wt% of silica and 1-10wt% of foaming styrol resin is added to the above to be followed by well agitation, then the admixture is cast and dried at 200-250 deg.C. After getting rid of the die, the product is provided with a number of air holes 1 inside and at the surface to form a porous resin media 3 having a virtual specific gravity of no more than one to be used for processing a barrel. According to this arrangement the media has an extraordinary soft touch with cloths, assuring very good finish with fine skin feeling. As the surface is as rough as that of a pumice, it has a good effect for untwine and decoloration.

(Prior art) Conventionally known molded barrel media can be roughly divided into inorganic vitrified media and organic synthetic resin media, but the former has a bulk specific gravity of 2.0 to 2.
.. The latter has a bulk specific gravity of nearly 1, which is light but has a smooth surface.

On the other hand, in barrel processing, the workpiece and media (hereinafter referred to as mass) are charged into a barrel tank, and water and compound are also charged if necessary, and the barrel tank is rotated or vibrated, or the mass is subjected to centrifugal flow, etc. The workpiece is processed by media, and the processing includes grinding, deburring, scaling, R, surface roughening, plating base, painting base, gloss finishing, mixing, stirring, and crushing. It is wide-ranging. Recently, this barrel processing has come to be used for loosening and decolorizing clothing such as jeans.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) In the conventional barrel processing method for clothing such as jeans,
When conventional hydrified media is used, the heavy weight of the media causes the clothing and media to separate, or the contact is too strong, making it impossible to achieve a soft finish. In addition, synthetic resin media had a problem in that the surface was too smooth, making it difficult to remove and decolorize the media sufficiently.

(Means for solving the problem) However, in the present invention, a large number of small holes are provided on the surface of synthetic resin particles molded to a predetermined size, and the true specific gravity of the synthetic resin particles is set to 1 or less. This not only corrected the smoothness but also alleviated the impact force on the fibers.

(Effects) Since the present invention uses unsaturated polyester resin as the main raw material as described above, the molding media thereof has high hardness and high wear resistance. Furthermore, by mixing vinyl chloride resin, the flexibility of the molding media increases, the reaction rate of the styrene foam resin can be suppressed, and the size of the pores can be adjusted. As the silica, silicon oxide such as silica sand and silica stone is used.

Next, since the media molded by the above manufacturing method has a large number of pores inside, the true specific gravity is 1 or less and it floats on water. Therefore, the contact state of the media with the clothing is extremely soft, resulting in a good finish with a nice texture. Also, since the surface of the media is rough like pumice, it is effective for sufficient removal and decolorization.
