Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 して超音波振動により溶着線を形成するための装置に関
する。
従来、重ねられたプラスチックシートに連続した溶着線
を形成するには、第1図に示した装置が使用されている
この装置は、超音波発振機1と、超音波発振機lで発生
した超音波の電気振動エネルギーを機械的振動エネルギ
ーに変換する振動子2と、振動子2に連結され振動子2
の振動変位(振幅)を拡大するための駆動ホーン(固定
ホーン、ブースターホーンともいう)と、駆動ホーン8
に接続され、被加工物を加工するための工具ホーン4と
、工具ホーン4の被加工物と接する部分に設けられたチ
ップ5と、チップ5に対向し固定して配置された受台9
と、駆動ホーン8に設けられたフランジと結合され、振
動子2と駆動ホーン8の一部を囲みこれらを加圧装置に
結合するためのケース6とからなっており、チップ5と
受台9との間にプラスチックフィルム10をはさみ込み
、工具ホーン4によりチップ5を介してプラスチックフ
ィルム10に超音波振動を加え、受台9に向って加圧し
なから1巻取袋着7によって供給装置8から、プラスチ
ックフィルムlOを巻取装置7の方に移動させて、プラ
スチックフィルム10に連続した溶着線を形成するよう
になっている。第2図(a) 、(b)に、チップ5の
正面及び側面を示す。チップ5及び受台9と、プラスチ
ックフィルム10との間の摩擦は、超音波振動を加える
と、加えないときの+/+oa程度となるので、チップ
5及び受台9をローラー状にして回転させなくても、プ
ラスチックフィルム10を滑らかに移動させることがで
きる。しかしこの装置によって溶着できるプラスチック
フィルムの厚さは一枚の厚さで0.1mmまでであって
、これ以上の厚さのものは連続的に溶着することができ
ない。
本発明は、一枚の厚さが0.1馴以上のプラスチックフ
ィルムも連続的に溶着できる超音波プラスチック連続溶
着装置を供することを目的とする。
本発明はこの目的を達するために、平らな一面の中心に
直角に駆動ホーンを接続し駆動装置により駆動ホーンの
中心線を軸として回転しうるように設けられた円板から
なる工具ホーンと、工具ホーンと円筒面が互に近接して
対向するように配置され工具ホーンと同周速で駆動装置
により回転しうるように設けられた円板状受台とを備え
た超音波プラスチック連続溶着装置を構成したことにあ
る。
第3図は本発明装置の要部斜視図であって、11は円板
からなる工具ホーンで、工具ホーン11の平らな一面の
中心に直角に駆動ホーン3が接続されている。工具ホー
ン11と駆動ホーン3は、駆動ホーン3の中心線を軸と
して図示されていない駆動装置により一体に回転しうる
ように設けられている。12は円板状受台で、工具ホー
ン11と円筒面が互に近接し対向するように配置され、
工具ホーン11と同周速で図示されていない駆動装置に
より回転しうるように設けられている。第3図に示すよ
うにプラスチックフィルム10を円板状受台12と工具
ホーン11とで挾み、駆動ホーン3を中心線に沿って縦
振動させると、工具ホーン11は、駆動ホーン3を中心
とする円環状のたわみ振動を行ない、外周の円筒面は、
プラスチックフィルム10に対してこすり振動を行ない
、プラスチックフィルム10を溶融し上下二枚を互に融
着させる。そこで工具ホーン11と円板状受台12の円
周面が同周速となるような速度でプラスチックフィルム
1oを送出するように回転させることによ゛す、プラス
チックフィルム10に連続して溶着線を形成できる。
このような構成とすることにより従来の超音波連続溶着
装置では溶着できなかった厚いシートの連続溶着を従来
より早い速度で溶着することが可能となる。工具ホーン
11の外径を、工具ホーン11に生ぜしめられるたわみ
振動のループ(腹)位置と一致するようにしたときが最
も大きな振幅が得られ、駆動ホーン3の縦振動を最も効
率的に利用できるが、たわみ振動のノードに近ずくほど
振幅が小さくなるので、塩化ビニールシートのように急
激に温度上昇させると、炭化、発泡するようなシートに
対して振動のループ位置にないように工具ホーン11の
外径を適当に選定することにより、表面より徐々に溶融
でき、溶着スピードはループ位置に外径を選定した場合
よりも遅くなるが、炭化、発泡を避けて連続溶着できる
なお工具ホーン11のたわみ振動のループ位置は、工具
ホーン11の厚さと、駆動ホーン3に与える縦振動の周
波数を選定することにより変更できる。

  1. (1)平らな一面の中心に直角に駆動ホーンを接続し駆
    動装置により駆動ホーンの中心線を軸として回転しうる
    ように設けられた円板からなる工具ホーンと、工具ホー
    ンと円筒面が互に近接して対向するように配置され工具
    ホーンと同周速で駆動装置により回転しうるように設け
    られた円板状受台とを備えたことを特徴とする超音波プ
    ラスチック連続溶着装置。
