Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、ＩＣメモリを塔載したメモリカードに関する
ものであって、取扱い中にメモリが破壊されないよう端
子部に保護手段を設けたことを特徴とするものである。
最近、従来の磁気カードにかわって、ＩＣメモリを塔載
したメモリカードが注目されはじめている。
しかしこれらのカードは、読取９器との接点用端子がむ
き出しになっているため、人体の静電気等によりカード
内のメモリが破壊されるおそれがある。そのためカード
内に保護回路を設ける等の必要があり、コストアップの
一因となっていた。
本発明は、上記の欠点を簡単な手段により完全に防止し
たものであって、従来露出していた端子群をエラストマ
一層で被い、がっそのエラストマ一層には各端子に達す
る切込みを設けたことを特徴とする。
以下本発明を図面に基いて説明する。
第１図は、本発明カードの斜視図、第２図はその■−■
断面図、第３図は従来のカードを示す斜視図である。
ＩＣメモリ２は、フレキンプル印刷配線基板３上に塔載
・ボンディングされ、基板３上の配線の端部は、端子３
／となっている。基板３の上下面は、端子３／の部分を
除いて、硬質ｐｖｃ等のソートク、弘で保護、補強され
ている。
従来は、第３図に示すように、端子３／が外部に露出し
ていたが、本発明においては、切込ミタ／ヲ設けたエラ
ストマ一層ｊでこの部分を被覆・保護している。
これにより、カードを読取り器に接続するときには、接
点乙が切込みｊｌ内に侵入して端子３／と接続し、カー
ド不使用時にはエラストマ一層夕の弾性によシ切込みｊ
／が閉塞し、端子３／の部分を完全に保護する。
エラストマ一層ｊの材質としては、スチレン系、オレフ
ィン系、塩ビ系、／７．２−ポリブタジェン系、ポリエ
ステル系、ポリアミド系、ウレタン系、シリコン系、フ
ッ素樹脂系等の各種のものが使用可能である。
またエラストマ一層ｊを端子３／上に被覆する方法とし
ては、エポキ／系、ウレタン系等の接着剤で貼着するの
が便利である。
この場合、端子３／側の面のソート≠にかえて、全面を
エラストマ一層で被うこともごきる。
本発明は、各種タイプのメモリカードに適用できる。
例えば、■Ｃメモリとして、マスクＲＯＭ、ＥＰＲＯＭ
−ＥＥＰＲＯＭ等の／チップを塔載したもの、あるいは
ＥＰＲＯＭとマイクロプロセッサの２チツプを塔載した
もの等が挙げられる。
ＥＰＲＯＭの場合には、ＩＣメモリ２の上面のソートグ
に紫外線消去用の窓を設け、この窓に石英ガラス等の紫
外線透過性の良い材料からなる保護板を嵌め込む。
本発明によれば、読取り器との接続に何ら支障を来たす
ことなく端子部を保護することができ、また工程的にも
コスト的にも簡明・安価であって、その実用的両値は極
めて大きい。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. ＩＣメモリを塔載したメモリカードにおいて、カードに
    配設された端子群の上面をエラストマ一層で被覆し、そ
    のエラストマ一層には各端子に達する切込みを設けたこ
    とを特徴とするメモリカード。
