Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、カラー・フィルターに関するものである。
従来、カラー・フィルターは、第１図に示す構造を持ち
、緻密な層を含まないため、弱い耐湿性を示し、特に色
素化合物の寿命が短かいというような欠点があった。
本発明は、耐湿性の強い緻密な層、ｋｔ、Ｏａ　　又は
Ｓｉ、Ｎ、　　を少なくとも一層基板上に形成すること
を特徴とし、その目的は、化学的に不安定な工Ｔｏとゼ
ラチンの化学反応を阻止し、かつ、外部からの水分侵入
をｋｌ、Ｏ，又はＳｉ、Ｎ４層により防ぐことができ、
色素化合物の寿命を長くすることにある。
以下実施例を用いて詳細に説明する。
第１図は、従来のカラー・フィルタの断面図である。ガ
ラス等の透明基板１上に色素化合物３を含むゼラチン層
２が形成され、その上に直接工ＴＯ透明導電層を形成し
ている。５はＳｉｎ、絶縁層、６は配向材から成る。従
来構造では、色素化合物上に化学的に不安定な工Ｔｏが
直接形成され、耐湿性め強い緻密で化学的に安定な層が
ないため、色素化合物の寿命が短かくなっている。第２
図は本発明の実施例であり、従来に比べて寿命の長いカ
ラー・フィルタを提供する。ガラス等の透明基板上には
、色素化合物１３を含んだゼラチン層１２が形成されて
いる。本発明では、ゼラチン層１２上にはＡｔ、Ｏ，又
はＳｉ、Ｎ、層１４が形成されている。Ａｔ、Ｏ，又は
Ｓｉ、Ｎ４層上にはＩＴ。
層１５．絶縁５１０１層１６．配向材１７が形成されて
いる。本発明では、色素化合物を含むゼラチン層上に化
学的に安定で緻密なｋｌ、０．又はＳ　ｉ、　Ｎ４　　
層を形成するため、色素化合物は化学的に安定で水分に
侵されることがなく、寿命が長くなる。
以上説明したように、本発明は長寿命のカラー・フィル
タを提供する。
Ｓ　ｉ３Ｎ、　　またはＡｔ、０．膜は透明電極配線上
に形成して、実質的に下地色素化合物を保護する役目を
果す構造にすればよい。
Ｓｉ、ＢＩ３　　またはＡｔ、Ｏ，膜は、実質的に色素
化合物の劣化を防止するように、その側面にまで被覆す
ることが望ましい。
