DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to an electrode connection device between two devices, for example, a connection device between an electrode of a display element such as a liquid crystal and a conductor foil of a printed wiring board. It is an object of the present invention to provide an electrode connecting device that can easily and reliably align the electrodes of a display element and the conductor foil of a printed wiring board when connecting them.

Recently, many display devices such as liquid crystals and electroluminescent devices that have multiple electrodes have been used, but the interaction between these electrodes and the conductive foil of the printed wiring board on which the drive circuit is mounted is important. Alignment during connection is extremely difficult.

In particular, as the number of electrodes increases and the pitch between the electrodes becomes narrower, alignment using the outer shape or reference hole of the display element or printed wiring board alone will not be sufficient due to misalignment of the outer shape or reference hole versus the electrode or conductive foil. Positioning accuracy may not be achieved. In addition, visual alignment while looking at the electrodes and conductive foil is extremely difficult to see because the electrodes of liquid crystals and electroluminescent elements are transparent electrodes, and since it relies on human senses, there are large instability factors and uncertainty. be. Furthermore, with the method of checking the connection and alignment while energizing the drive circuit and operating the display element, it is possible to check whether the electrodes and conductive foil are connected, but it is difficult to determine to what extent they overlap. It is difficult to judge, for example, if the electrodes and the conductive foil overlap slightly, it may be that some electrodes that are not in the display state are not connected to the conductive foil. However, it takes time to check the connection status of all electrodes by changing the drive mode variously, and the positional relationship may change during that time, making it uncertain. and,
If the overlap is insufficient as described above, there is a problem in that the connection condition is likely to become defective due to shock or the like after assembly. In order to solve the above problem, the present invention uses one of the electrodes of a display element that is not used as an alignment electrode, and places a printed wiring board on a corresponding printed wiring board so as to partially overlap the electrode. In the position of
By providing two conductive foils and performing alignment while checking the conductivity between the conductive foils, alignment can be easily and reliably performed.

以下、本発明について実施例の図面と共に説明する。The present invention will be described below with reference to drawings of embodiments.

FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention. In Figure 1, 1
is a display element, 2 is a printed wiring board provided with a circuit for driving the display element 1, 3 is an electrode row of the display element 1, and 4 is a conductor foil row printed at a position on the printed wiring board 2 corresponding to the electrode row 3. , 5 is an electrode for alignment, 6 and 7 are conductor foils for alignment, 8 and 9 are terminals, and 10 is a tester for checking continuity between the conductor foils 6 and 7. In FIG. 1, the alignment electrode 5 and the conductor foils 6, 7 overlap only by the weight (electrode width) of the other electrode row 3 and the conductor foil row 4 even at the optimum position.
Therefore, if the relative position between the display element 1 and the printed wiring board 2 deviates from the optimum position by % of the electrode width, the conductor foil 6
, 7 disappears.

However, with this degree of deviation, the other electrode rows 3 are connected to the conductor foil row 4 with sufficient certainty. By confirming the continuity between the conductor foils 6 and 7 in this way, It is possible to ensure that row 4 is aligned. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the alignment accuracy is within 2% of the electrode width, and fairly high-precision alignment is possible, but in many cases this accuracy may be a little lower in practice.

However, when the width of the alignment electrode 5 shown in FIG. Due to the danger, it cannot be made too narrow. Therefore, as shown in the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the width of the alignment electrode 5 is made wider than the other electrode rows 3, and the weight with the alignment conductor foils 6 and 7 is made larger than in the case of FIG. By setting it wide, rough positioning is possible without worrying about shorts between foils, and positioning can be performed easily. Even in the case of FIG. 2, the alignment accuracy is within 1% of the electrode width, which is sufficient for practical use. Note that, as shown in the embodiment of FIG. 3, the portions of the alignment electrode 5 and the alignment conductive foils 6 and 7 other than those corresponding to the overlapping positions may be omitted.
