Abstract

PURPOSE:To constitute the titled spike so as not to injur a road surface at the time of ordinary running, by so constituting that the spike of a spike tire is protruded from the surface of the tire at the time of braking by making use of a difference of the directions of forces to be applied to the tire at the time of running and the braking. CONSTITUTION:A spike 12 is made of hard steel 13 and soft steel 14 and a bar part 16 is formed in about T-shaped state through which the bar part 16 meets at an acute angle with a bottom 15 surface. An elastic component 17 made of rubber matter and an elastic component 18 are provided respectively in a tilting direction side and above the bottom 15 of the opposite side also. The spike 12 is protruded at a protruded height (a) in a tilting state to the surface of the tire 11 so that the spike 12 opposes to the turning direction (arrow) of the tire at the time of advance of a vehicle. At the time of an ordinary running, though the spike 12 is sunk at a projection quantity (b) smaller than (a) through force F from the left which is the upper part of a drawing, at the time of braking sufficient braking effect is generated at a projection quantity (c) larger than (a) by receiving the force F from the right side of the drawing.

Therefore, the protruding parts may be placed on concrete, asphalt, or road surfaces.
They scrape off markings on the road surface, which accelerates road damage, and the scraped parts become dust that scatters or floats around, causing serious environmental pollution and public health.

When necessary, that is, when braking, the spikes protrude above the tire surface to exert braking force, and when not necessary, that is, when driving, they sink into the tire rubber to an extent that does not interfere with driving, and do not scrape the road surface. 1. The above-mentioned functions are provided to the SnowQuick by either installing elastic bodies such as rubber and springs, or by using the tread as the elastic body.

FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a main part showing a state in which a conventional tire spike is driven perpendicularly into a tire tread surface. [In the system 1, b1 is a tire, and 2 is a spike, which is usually constructed so that a hard steel 3 is on the right side and the outside is wrapped with a soft steel 4, and the bottom part is slightly wider than the upper rod-shaped part, forming a roughly T-shape. The height of the protruding part a from the tire surface remains almost constant regardless of the pressure from the road surface. .

FIGS. 2-1 to 2-3 are cross-sectional views similar to FIG. 1 illustrating the spike and its use and function in one embodiment of the present invention. In the figure, the spike 12 is made of hard steel E 3 and solid steel 14, as in FIG. It is formed in the shape of On the inclination direction side, a rubber elastic member 17 is disposed on the opposite side, and an elastic member 18 is also adhered or fused on the bottom portion 15, and the spikes 12 are attached to the surface of the tire 11 when the vehicle moves forward. It is driven in so that it is inclined from the radial direction of the vehicle (see Fig. 6) so as to face the rotational direction (indicated by the arrow) of the tire, and has a protruding height a. In this case, the bottom portion 15 of the spike is positioned parallel to the surface of the tire 11. However, as shown in Figure 2-2, when a force is applied from the F or Y direction, the spike 12 is driven in at an angle and the elastic members 17 and 18 are adhered or fused. The protruding height b is reduced and almost sinks to become lower than a.

Also, for the same reason, as shown in Figure 2-3, when a force is applied from the F direction during braking, etc., the spikes 12 stand up.
The protrusion height C becomes large and a sufficient braking effect can be exerted. The rod-shaped member may be of a considerable diameter or that of a piano wire. Or, since the spikes are more inclined when driving, the soft steel side always contacts the road surface, which can greatly reduce the damage caused by the hard steel side against the main aggregate of the road surface.

Unlike the case shown in FIG. 2, the spike 22 has a plate shape as a whole. Rubber elastic members 27 and 28 (if) are adhered or fused to the upper part of the bottom on the inclined side and the opposite side, respectively. The spikes 22 formed in this way are attached to the tire 21 in the same manner as in FIG.
1, its function is exactly the same as that described in FIG. 2, as shown in each figure in FIG. Incidentally, the portion 2 on the inclined side of the plate member 26 shown by the dotted line is made of hard steel, and the other portions are made of soft steel.

As shown in FIG. 6, the spikes 52 are driven in at an angle so as to face the direction of rotation of the tire 51 with respect to the direction of travel of the vehicle (indicated by a straight arrow). It is more effective to drive at an angle of 1 or more than to drive vertically as in the conventional method. Figure 7 is a front scale diagram of the tire with spikes 52,
When the tire 51 is inserted 1" into the side surface of the tire 51, it is effective to prevent the vehicle from skidding by installing the tire 51 at an angle in the direction of the center line of the width of the tire 51.
