Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform coating with a uniform thickness and to make a parting line definite by providing plural pieces of flexible tubes meeting the sectional shape of a long-sized object in a storage part for a coating material, and bringing the tubes into contact with the surface of the long-sized object thereby coating said material. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of flexible tubes 6 are provided in a storage part 6 for a coating material to supply uniformly the coating material. The tubes 6 are adapted to the sectional shape of a long-sized object to be coated. A cylinder 10 is actuated to bring the tubes 6 into contact diagonally with the surface of the long-sized object. While the long-sized object is moved in this state, the coating material in the tank 1 is fed by the operation of a pump 2 via a pipe 3 to the part 5 and the material is coated from the open ends of the tubes 6. The coating material is thus applied at a uniform thickness on the surface of the long-sized object of which the section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction has a specified shape; at the same time, the parting line is made definite.

When applying adhesive, paint, or other coating agent to a long object, a specific part (or the entire part) of the outer periphery in a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the long object is applied along the longitudinal direction of the long object. Continuous application is performed. For example, a fixed coating device coats a predetermined portion of a rubber or plastic elongated article obtained by extrusion while moving it in the longitudinal direction at a predetermined speed. Conventionally, such a fixed coating device has been used, for example, one consisting of a coating agent supply pipe and a brush or scraper disposed adjacent to the vibrator. As shown in FIG. 1, the coating agent is continuously supplied from the tip of the coating agent supply pipe B while running the long object A'5 at a constant speed in its longitudinal direction. Next, the supplied coating agent tl is stretched to a predetermined width and thickness by a brush C that is brought into contact with a range corresponding to the coated part of the long object A in front of the supply pipe B with respect to the running direction of the long object. It is something.

However, with this type of coating method, it is extremely difficult to achieve a perfect coating, and therefore it is difficult to form a coating layer with a uniform thickness over the entire coating width, with the coating layer being thicker in the center and thinner in the periphery. A coating agent layer is easily formed. In addition, it is difficult to completely apply the coating agent to the boundary line between areas where it should be applied and areas where it should not be applied (i.e.,
The parting line will be clearly visible, and the coating material will leave unpainted areas and bulges).

This kind of drawback is especially important when the viscosity of the coating agent is high. :,
Remarkable. On the other hand, a spray coating method is sometimes applied to apply a coating agent to a long object. According to this method, the parting line clearly appears by performing complete masking, but this results in a lot of waste of coating material. Furthermore, in this method, when coating a long object with a sharply uneven cross section, it is difficult to coat the entire coated surface with a uniform thickness.

For this purpose, a coating agent application means is attached to the tip of the coating agent supply pipe, and the coating means has a plurality of thin flexible tubes that can communicate with the supply vibrator. The tip openings of the tube are arranged in a continuous line when purchased, and the tube can have a shape in which the arrangement of the tip openings corresponds to the shape of the outer circumferential application part in the cross-sectional shape of the long object. This is also achieved by the coating apparatus of the present invention, characterized in that the coating means is provided with means (hereinafter referred to as moving means) for separating the coating means from and abutting the elongated object.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in more detail based on the drawings. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the coating device of the present invention, and Fig. 3 is a sectional view thereof. In the apparatus of the present invention, a coating means 4 for applying a coating agent to a long object is provided at the tip of a coating agent supply pipe 3 for supplying all of the coating agent from a coating agent tank 1 by a pump 2. The coating agent supply pipe 3 may be any conventionally used pipe as long as it can flow the coating agent at a predetermined flow rate and has a predetermined strong IW.

It goes without saying that a material that is highly resistant to coating agents should be used. The coating means 4 includes a coating agent reservoir 5 that communicates with the coating agent supply pipe 3 and a plurality of thin flexible tubes 6 that communicate with the reservoir 5, respectively. There are no particular restrictions on the internal volume, shape, etc. of the storage section 5, and it is provided to uniformly supply the coating agent introduced from the supply pipe 3 to all the tubes 6, and this purpose is achieved. If so, branch the tip of supply pipe 3 and connect it directly to H.
J flexible tube 6 may be connected. The storage portion 5 is made of metal or plastic, and has a predetermined strength and durability. The tube 6 is flexible and usually made of plastic or rubber. The tube 6 can be of any suitable size depending on the coating agent, the thickness of the head cloth, etc., and is, for example, a polyethylene tube with an inner diameter of 1 mm and an outer diameter of 1.5 mm. The material of the tube 6 is one that is resistant to the lubricant used.

In using the coating apparatus of the present invention as described above, first, the long object A is made to run at a constant speed in its longitudinal direction, and the open end of the tube 6 is lightly pressed against the coating surface of the long object A.
At the same time, the supply pipe 3 is supplied from the coating agent tank 1 by the pump 2.
The coating agent is supplied through the reservoir 5 and then to each tube 6.
Push out all of the coating material from the tip opening onto the coating surface. At this time, it is preferable that the tube 61-j be brought into contact with the coating surface obliquely. Immediately after application, the coating agent exhibits streaks corresponding to the number of tubes 6, but after a short period of time, the thickness becomes uniform due to flow. In the case of FIG. 2, the arrangement of the tip openings of the tube 6 is configured from the beginning (i.e., when the elongated object A is brought into contact with the disintegration r) to correspond to the shape of the fallen cloth portion in the cross-sectional shape of the elongated object. However, the arrangement of the tip openings may not initially correspond exactly to the shape of the application portion in the cross-sectional shape of the elongated object. Since the tube 6 in the apparatus of the present invention has flexibility, when its tip opening is pressed diagonally against the coating surface, it will be arranged in a manner that follows the shape of the coating surface (i.e., the tube 6 in the present invention has flexibility). (The degree of gender is such that it can produce such an effect.)

When coating long objects, intermittent application of the coating agent may be required. That is, as shown in FIG. 3, this is a type of coating in which the coated portions are discrete in the longitudinal direction. In this case, the air cylinder 10 is operated to separate the applicator 4 and, in turn, the tube 6 from the entire long object A, or to bring it into contact with it. In FIG. 3, solid lines indicate the contact state and dotted lines indicate the separated state. This application means 4
The supply of the coating agent from the supply vibrator 3 is stopped or started in conjunction with the movement of the supply vibrator 3.

In this way, when the coating agent is uniformly supplied from the coating agent supply pipe 3 to each tube 6, the storage section may be omitted. Furthermore, in this specific example, the tube tip openings are not aligned in the direction perpendicular to the running direction of the long object;
In the present invention, "1-The arrangement of the tip openings corresponds to the shape of the applied part on the outer periphery of the cross-sectional shape of the long object" means that the arrangement corresponds to the shape of the applied part when projected on a plane perpendicular to the running direction of the long object. The meaning shall also include the case where In addition, when using a relatively long tube as shown in Fig. 4, the entire tube should be

Also, no coating agent is wasted. Furthermore, although long objects are made to run along appropriate guides, deflection may sometimes occur. Even in that case, in the apparatus of the present invention, since the tube 6 is flexible, it can sufficiently follow the coating surface and no uneven coating will occur. Further, according to the apparatus of the present invention, even a coated surface having a complicated cross-sectional shape can be easily coated with a uniform thickness. In addition, the apparatus of the present invention allows for easy intermittent coating.
