Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 するものであり、その目的は殊に中綴の製本工程におい
て丁合すべき折丁を確実に検出し、乱丁を防止すること
である。
従来，製本工程におけるｆ合機での装架作業では折丁を
正確に重ねて製本する手段として、平綴の場合は折丁に
背標を設け、折丁を数鯛重ねた後に折丁マークを目視又
は光学的に検査する方法が採られていた．しかし中綴の
場合は背標が製本された後まで露呈するため背標の使用
が好ましくなく、たとえ仮に背標を用いても１合工程で
内側の背標が隠れてしまい、平綴の場合と同様の検出を
行うことは不可能であった．従って中綴の場合は完全に
乱丁を防止することは極めて困難であった。
本発明者らはかかる製本工程における現状の問題点に鑑
み，中綴の場合にも適用し得る新規な折丁の検出法を発
明せんとし、種々考察研究した結果本発明を完成するに
至ったものである．即ち本発明は、折丁１の前小口部の
裁ち線２より外側部分に折丁の種類に従って位置及び／
又は色の種類が異なるように印刷マーク３を形成し、該
折丁１を丁合すると同時又はそれ以前に該印刷マーク部
に光を照射せしめ、受光素子４Ｃよりその反射光を検出
することを特徴とする乱丁防止方法である。
以下本発明にかかる乱丁防止方法について更に詳しく説
明する。
まず折丁１の前小口部の裁ち線２より外側部分に印刷マ
ーク３を形成する（第１図参照）、この印刷マーク３は
折丁の種類に従ってその形成される位置及び／又は色の
種類が異なるように設けられるものである。裁ち線２よ
り外側部分に形成するのは、製本した状１１１Ｃて該部
分が断裁され、印刷マーク３が切り落とされるようにす
るためである。
印刷マーク３の形状、色相、濃度は特に限定されないが
、その大きさは用いる受光素子ｔｉｃ応じて適宜選定し
、ベタ印刷濃度であるのが好ましい。尚、印刷マーク３
はその他の印刷部の印刷と同時に印刷形成することがで
きる。
次に前記印刷マーク３を形成された折丁１の印刷マーク
３を検出する。この検出に際しては、光を照射する投光
部５及びその反射光を検出する受光素子４を備えた検出
器を用いる。第３図は本発明にかかる方法において使用
する検出器の一実施例を示すものである。検出は、投光
部５及び受光素子４が折丁１の印刷マーク３部分に照射
又は反射光を受光できる位置に設置して行う、第２図の
実施例では固定板６に支えられた検出器を折丁１の印刷
マーク５部分に設置して検出する。検出は丁合と同時か
又はそれ以前に行う。実施例においては、積載された折
丁１の下部に検出器を備え、下端の折丁１から順に検出
し同時に丁合する。検出の結果、受光素子４によって印
刷マーク３が確認されなかった場合は不適当な折丁１を
除外したり或いは丁合作業を停止せしめたりすることに
よって乱丁を防止する。
本発明は以上のような構成の乱丁防止方法であるから、
中綴のみでなく平綴の場合にも折丁を確実に検査するこ
とができる。特に従来、検出が困難であった中綴の丁合
工程においても一折丁ずつ検出することができる。従っ
て本発明を適用することによって乱丁を完全に防止する
ことができるものであり、製本工程における作業能率が
高められ、印刷業界等での広い７１用が期待されるもの
である。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 折丁の前小口部の裁ち線より外側部分に折丁のａｉｍに
    従って位置及び／又は色の種類が異なるように印刷マー
    クを形成し、該折丁を丁合すると同時又はそれ以前に該
    印刷マーク部に光を照射せしめ、受光素子によりその反
    射光を検出することを特徴とする乱丁防止方法。
