Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide patterns not standardized, having a depth and a three- dimensional feeling, to building boards by a method in which the surface of an elemental board to be patterned is pretreated and then patterned by printing, the pattern is shaded off by using a solvent, and a top coat is applied to the surface. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an elemental board 1 to be patterned is subjected to pretreatments, e.g., filling, sanding, application of base coat, etc., as needed, and then patterned by printing by means of a roll coater 2, etc. Then, a solvent is spread over the pattern 3 so printed by using a solvent spreader 4 to shade off the pattern 3 with the solvent, the solvent is removed by an adequate method, and then a top coat 6 is applied to the surface by using a flow coater 5, etc., to obtain an objective building board 7 with patterns.

That is, since the cost of patterning is rarely an issue, sophisticated printing methods such as gravure and gravure offset printing can be employed. Furthermore, a method using a transfer sheet obtained from the above printing method is also considered.

On the other hand, apart from the case of so-called decorative sheets such as wallpaper, when architectural boards are to be painted, economics becomes an issue, so it is difficult to employ the elaborate printing method described above. Furthermore, there are many problems in the painting process, such as the process being complicated.

Furthermore, since the same pattern is repeated as long as it is a printed matter, there is also the drawback that it lacks a natural feel.

A painting method called suminagashi (suminagashi) may be considered as a painting method to create a natural look, but since this is not a painting method suitable for mass production, it is difficult to put it into practical use as a painting method for architectural boards.

The figure shows a flowchart of steps for carrying out the coating method according to the method of the present invention. Here, 1 is a construction board that is a material, 2 is a means for patterning such as roll caulk, 3 is a pattern provided, 4 is a device for spraying a solvent, 5 is a device for applying a top coat such as a flow coater, 7 is a patterned architectural board.

The boards above are subjected to surface treatments such as sealing, base coat painting, and sanding as necessary. Next, the surface of the construction board l is coated with an appropriate method (for example, a roll coater 2
) to create a pattern. For example, a printing method is used. This pattern 3 uses ordinary paint, printing ink, etc. Next, a solvent is sprayed onto the pattern using a suitable spraying means 4 to melt the pattern and blur the pattern. Therefore, the solvent used here must be able to dissolve the previously applied pattern, at least to some extent, and the pattern must be applied using a composition that is soluble in the solvent used. Next, the solvent is removed by an appropriate method, and a top coat is applied thereon using, for example, a flow coater 5. What is thus obtained is a construction board according to the present invention.

Note that depending on the combination of pattern printing ink (or paint) and top coat material, the solvent spraying step may be omitted. In other words, the solvent contained in the top coat material may melt the previously applied pattern.

By doing so, the edges of the previously applied pattern are removed by the solvent, resulting in a deep or three-dimensional pattern. Furthermore, since the degree of erosion of the pattern by the solvent can be varied, it is difficult to create a uniform pattern, and a natural feel is created. Furthermore, it is a method suitable for mass production since it can express complex patterns such as those mentioned above.

[Effects] In this invention, the surface of the material to be patterned is subjected to pre-treatment such as sealing, sanding, and base coat painting as necessary, and then the pattern is printed, and then the pattern is applied with a solvent. Since it is characterized by applying a top coat along with blurring, the edges of the pre-applied pattern are removed by the solvent, resulting in a deep or three-dimensional pattern.
Since the degree of erosion of the pattern by the solvent can be varied, it is difficult to create a uniform pattern, and this has the effect of creating a natural feel. Furthermore, it has the effect of being suitable for mass production since it can express complex patterns such as those mentioned above.
