Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain golden parts with high reproducibility in a short treatment time by forming titanium nitride films on parts by ion plating and by further forming tantalum nitride films on the titanium nitride films by ion plating. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum vessel 1 is evacuated to prescribed vacuum degree with an exhaust system 2, and while rotating a jig 4 on its axis under a prescribed partial pressure of N2, ion platin is carried out with a high voltage electron gun evaporator 6 for evaporating Ti, a probe electrode 9 with applied positive potential, an acceleration power source 8 and a gas introducing system 3. The vessel 1 is evacuated again to a prescribed vacuum degree, and ion plating is similarly carried out with a high voltage electron gun evaporator 7 for evaporating Ta. Thus, golden uniform film different froms titanium nitride films are obtd.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to the formation of a golden-colored coating on an exterior component for a portable watch. Gold or gold alloys have been peeled off or wet-plated as materials for GTS products for gold-colored portable watches. In recent years, 41 films of titanium nitride, tantalum nitride, etc. that exhibit a golden color have been formed by ion blasting, and in particular, titanium oxide coated M is commonly used for decorative exterior parts such as exterior parts for mobile watches. It has been put into practical use. However, from FK, the color aAil of the titanium nitride coating has a lower brightness than gold, gold alloy, and gold plating, and it has a dark feeling, and green or brown used to have a cheap feeling. On the other hand, the golden color of tantalum nitride gives a more noble feeling than that of titanium nitride. However, when forming a coated tube by ion blasting, the melting point, vapor pressure, and other physical properties of the evaporated substance greatly influence the rate of film formation and film quality.Especially when tantalum nitride is made, the evaporated substance is 32731 Because tantalum has a melting point of However, it has been difficult to put it into practical use due to poor reproducibility caused by the long processing time.

Furthermore, when both samples were subjected to a salt spray test at -35°C for 96 hours, only tantalum nitride was formed, and the next sample showed rust on the entire surface, whereas the sample with titanium nitride in the lower layer showed very little rust. It turned out that there was no change and there was a significant difference.
