Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce inverse dielectric strength of a diode for reverse-current blocking by placing a filter for attenuating high voltage from a power source for spark discharge, between an ignition plug and a rectifying device, in a plasma ignition device for an internal-combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:A coil 9 for restricting a discharge current is connected between a diode 6 and an ignition plug 10, and capacitor 11 is connected between the earth and a connecting point for a coil 9 and the diode 6, allowing a low pass filter to be formed between the coil 9 and the capacitor 11. High voltage outputted from an ignition coil 3 is a sharp pulse having pulse width of a approximately 10mus, so that pulse is attenuated greatly by said filter. For this reason, it is possible to reduce inverse dielectric strength of the diode 6 and also energy loss in plasma ignition.
