Abstract
PURPOSE: To have a compacted supercharger for motorcycle by diverging a path from the suction path lead from the supercharger to suction port to open at a resonance chamber to be formed in the main tube at its central part by blocking the both ends.
CONSTITUTION: A resonance chamber 33 with a certain specified capacity is formed by blocking the ends of a main tube 2 with a head pipe 1 and cap 8. A divergent line 32 from the suction path 19 led from the supercharger S to the suction port 15 passing over the engine E is extended to enter the said chamber 33 in such an arrangement that the change of this extension part 32a will adjust the effective length of the divergent line 32. If during this operation a pressure pulsation arises in the suction path 19 owing to intermittent actuation of the suction valve 17, etc., the resonance effect to the resonance chamber 33 will damp it and thus occurrence of the surging phenomenon in the compressor can be prevented.
