Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the tortion of the rotary body positively in a simple constitution without effects of temperature, electrostatic induction, magnetic induction, and the like, by detecting the amount of tortion in response to ON and OFF of light through light path opening and closing devices provided in two positions. CONSTITUTION:Disks 8 and 9 with the similar slits 14 for opening and closing the light paths are provided at two positions on a tortion detecting shaft 1. Optical sensors 11 and 11 are turned ON and OFF by said disks 8 and 9 through light emitting elements 15, optical fibers 16, light receiving elements 17, optical fibers 18, and end faces 16a and 18a of the optical fibers 16 and 18. Disks 8 and 9 are located between said end faces 16a and 18a. Then said ON and OFF signals are given to a tortion computing device 12. Rotating torque is applied by a motor 2, and a load 3 is applied on a shaft. The amount of the tortion of the a shaft is determied by the transition of the ON and OFF signals in a time domain. A signal corresponding to the tortion is generated in a transducer 13. Thus the tortion of the rotary body which is readily subjected to temperature, electrostatic capacity, and electromagnetic capacity is positively detected in the simple constitution.
