Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate a water piping and facilitate the manufacturing of a water heater by a method wherein a heat transfer plate having corrugations for the water passage is adhered to a heat insulating base block in which a heat insulative material is integrally filled in a rear part thereof.
CONSTITUTION: Heat insulative material 3 is integrally filled in a rear part of the outer casing 2 formed of a synthetic resin or metal so as to construct a heat insulating base block 1. Water supply passage 11 and water discharge passage 12 are formed at the upper surface of the heat insulating base block 1 so as to communicate a water supply pipe 8 and a water discharge pipe 9, respectively. Between the water supply passage 11 and the water discharge passage 12, a heat transfer plate 4 having corrugated section is adhered on the base block 1 so as to form the water passage, an upper opening of the heat insulating base block 1 is covered by the double glass plates 6, 6', resulting in making a vacuum layer 7 between the glass plates 6 and 6'.
