Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized dot printer with rapid responsiveness by a construction wherein respective magnets are shaped into substantially fan-like, tapered form and they are dispoed radially so that respective needles are converged to the center. CONSTITUTION:A drive section 1 of a dot printer comprises a plurality of cantilever type magnets 2 (the illustrated embodiment has seven magnets). Each magnet 2 is formed by winding a coil 6 round a core 5 having fan-like or triangular form in section. An armature 15 also is shaped into substantialy fan-like form corresponding to the form of the core and has a reduced sectional area as it approaches to its free end.
