Abstract
PURPOSE:To transmit a detected point of surge easily and precisely through a low-speed digital circuit, by removing sampling distortion in sampling the detection point of surge generated when an accident of a transmission line occurs. CONSTITUTION:Before the generation of surge, a frame generator FG sends a unique pattern to be synchronized with a reception side in terms of phase. Once a surge (a) is detected by a surge detector, a detection output (b) is applied to a terminal, and consequently a counter COT starts counting pulses from a reference oscillator OSC and stops the counting operation by a next sampling pulse from a clock generator CG (counting time ts). The COT to be output (b), the frame generator FG interrupts the transmission of a synchronizing signal, and generates and transmits a code sequence with frame constitution. The reception side, on the other hand, discriminates surge information once detecting a start bit by a code checker C, and then extracts data; and an arithmetic circuit CA computes time relation with the surge signal of its office inputted through a delay circuit T to spot an accident point.
