Abstract

PURPOSE:To alleviate the loss of a switching regulator circuit at the turn-OFF time by connecting the second transistor in which a diode and a capacitor is connected to its base and a resistor is connected to its emitter between the base and the emitter of the first transistor. CONSTITUTION:The first transistor 1 is conducted by a conduction signal from a control circuit at the time t1, a capacitor 10 is charged through a resistor 9, and since the base-emitter voltage of the second transistor and the emitter voltage of the first transistor 1 are lower than the voltage of the capacitor 10, the transistors are not conducted. When a non-conduction signal is supplied to the first transistor 1 at the time t2, its emitter voltage will start lowering, allowing the voltage of the capacitor 10 to forwardly bias the base-emitter voltage of the second transistor 7, and the second transistor results in the instantaneous conduction. As a consequence, the first transistor 1 is shortcircuited, thereby rapidly eliminating the stored charge to alleviate the switching loss of the switching transistors.
