Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a rubber magnet with a limited consumption of thermal energy and an improved working environment by loading a mold made of non- magnetic material with a kneaded mixture of a rubber blend and a powdered magnetic material, which is vulcanized and molded by heating under a magnetic induction and magnetized.
CONSTITUTION: A raw rubber 1, a powdered magnetic material 2 and a rubber blend 3 are charged into a kneader 4 to form a kneaded rubber magnet mixture 5. Then, the kneaded product 5 is charged into a mold comprising an upper die 7 and a lower die 8 both made of a non-magnetic material and pressurized with both dies matching each other. Upon the actuation of a magnetic induction heater 9 simultaneously with the compression, the powdered magnetic material in the kneaded product 5 generates heat under an induction heating, which is transmitted to heat the kneaded product 5 as a whole to promote the vulcanization. Thus, the molding is completed. With the completion of the vulcanizing molding, the operation of the magnetic induction heater 9 is stopped and the molding is taken out of the mold. Then, the molding 5' is magnetized with a magnetizer 10 to make a rubber magnet.
