Abstract
PURPOSE:To diffuse coolant uniformly to inside a liquid-cooled type closed motor as well as to prevent burning of a winding and over-heat in parts, proving enhancement of reliability of the motor, by a method wherein a coolant liquid reservoir is installed above the motor and a liquid level switch is installed in this liquid reservoir. CONSTITUTION:A gas-liquid two-phase coolant supplied from a non-illustrated refrigerator to a liquid-cooled type closed motor is separated to liquid and gas in a liquid reservoir 22 installed over the motor, and this liquid part is freely dropped at a pressure corresponding to the height difference A of a spray nozzle 9 installed on a bearing bracket 8 and its liquid level to be fed to the spray nozzle 9. Therefore, an amount of coolant needed for operation of the motor can be secured, and uniform diffusion of coolant into the motor can be achieved. Further, when an amount of coolant fed into the motor is reduced due to reduction of the differential pressure of a refrigerator, a liquid level switch 25 installed in the liquid reservoire 22 is activated to stop the motor, so that burning of winding and overheat of parts can be prevented, proving higher reliability.
