Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a gas-dam which is high in airtightness and reliability, by making a core pass through in a through-hole by use of thermosetting resin parts having the through-hole whose inside diameter is larger than the cable core, injecting said resin into the air-gap, and forming an airtight block. CONSTITUTION:In through-holes 16-1, 16-2 of a thermosetting resin part 16 made of epoxy resin, etc., an optical fiber core 3, a copper core and a gas pipe 15 are stored so as to be held in a straight line. Also, the optical fiber core 3 is placed on the outermost circumferential part of epoxy resin. In this case, since soft polyurethane resin 18 is injected in advance in the air-gasp in the circumference of the optical fiber, influence of hard epoxy resin is further-lightened. An airtight block 19 can be expanded and contracted freely. Also, the space between internal surfaces of the airtight block 19 and a terminating sleeve 23 is kept airtight by an ''O'' ring 23-1.
