Abstract
PURPOSE: To solidify firmly the ground without the outflow of an injecting liquid from a zone to be injected or without causing the pollution of undergound water by an acid due to the injecting liquid, by using a mixture composed of an aq. non-alkaline silicic acid soln. and clay in a specified ratio as the injecting liquid for solidifying the ground.
CONSTITUTION: An aq. non-alkaline silicic acid soln. (A) obtd. by mixing an acidic reactant such as sulfuric acid with water glass is mixed with clay (B) in such a proportion as to satisfy the following conditions (i), (ii) and (iii) to prepare an injecting liquid: (i) the pH is 5 or below during mixing, (ii) the value of the formula (wherein[SiO2]is the molar concentration of water glass contained in the mixture; n is the molar ratio of water glass;[H+]is the molar concentration of H+ in the mixture) is 1×10-3 or below, and (iii) the content of clay B is 3W20wt%. When this injecting liquid is injected into soft ground or the ground where water leaks out, the liquid is well penetrated into fine soil particles because the viscosity of the liquid is low. The liquid is caused to gel and solidified without flowing out from a zone to be injected due to the thixotropic properties of clay.
EFFECT: The pH of underground water is kept in a range satisfying waste water quality standards.
