Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the protection of an inverter against an overvoltage at the regeneratively braking time by detecting the rise of the DC side voltage of the inverter at the regeneratively braking time, operating a transistor and making a brake setting circuit ineffective. CONSTITUTION:Regenerative power corresponding to the brake torque of an induction motor 22 is fed back to the DC side of an inverter 21 at the regeneratively braking time, and a capacitor 36 is charged. When the charged voltage of the capacitor 36 reaches VH, the output of the DC voltage detector 37 becomes H, and a transistor 38 is conducted ON. The set brake torque setting unit of a torque limiter 35 is elminated by the ON of the transistor 38, the output of the speed regulator 23 is eliminated, the inverter 21 is interrupted OFF, the brake torque is eliminated, and the charging of the capacitor 36 is stopped. When the terminal voltage of the capacitor 36 is dropped lower than VL, the output of the detector 37 becomes L, the transistor 38 is interrupted OFF, the inverter 21 is again operated to become the regeneratively braking state, the charged voltage of the capacitor 36 is again raised, and the above operations are repeated.
