Abstract

PURPOSE:To save the electric power of a controlling circuit and to improve the efficiency of the circuit for a transistor inverter by providing a detecting circuit for detecting the direction of a voltage applied between the emitter and the collector of a current switching transistor to the controlling circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a drive signal Vd is applied between the terminals 15d and 15e, a light emitting diode 16a emits a light, a phototransistor 16b becomes ON state, and a transistor 18 becomes ON. When a reverse voltage is applied between the emitter and the collector of a transistor 1, the base current of the transistor 27 flows through a resistor 30, and the transistor 27 becomes ON. As a result, the transistor 21 becomes ON, and the transistor 23 becomes OFF. That is, when a reverse voltage is applied between the emitter and the collector of the the transistor 1 even if the drive signal Vd is applied between the terminals 15d and 15e, the transistor 23 does not become ON, and the drive current will not be supplied to the transistor 1.
