Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of the insulation of an armature for a rotary electric machine and to facilitate the lifting coiling work of the armature by providing an insulation from the ground only at the lower coil of two-layer coils, inserting the lower coil into a slot, then providing an insulation from the ground at the upper coil, and then inserting the upper coil into the slot. CONSTITUTION:A ground insulating layer 39 is formed only on the lower coil 38 of a two-layer hexagonal armature coil, is then molded and thermally set, and only the lower coil 38 is inserted into the slot 35 of the core 34 in the state that the upper coil 37 is not provided with the insulation from the ground. Then, an insulating tape 40 is wound on the slot of the core on the surface of the upper coil 37, the ground insulation is provided, and the upper coil 37 is then inserted into the slot. In this manner the damage of the insulating layer due to the lifting coil can be minimized.
