Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a thermal energy efficiency, by dipping metallic strip in a molten salt bath after uncoiling a hot rolled high temp. metalic strip and jointing to a preceding strip, to transfer the sensible heat of the metallic strip to the molten salt thereby recovering said sensible heat. CONSTITUTION:Immediately after a hot rolled metallic strip is coiled, a strip still in hot state is uncoiled by either of uncoilers 2, 2 and cut at its heading end part by a shearing machine 6 and is joined to a preceding strip by a welder 9. Next, the strip is continuously dipped into a molten salt bath 11 having a steam generating pipe or a heat exchanger, and the sensible heat of the strip is transferred to the molten salt to hot water in said pipe, stretching around the inner wall of the bath, thereby recovering the sensible heat by the steam generation. On the other hand, the strip is then washed with water in a washing tank 14 and dried by a dryer 15 and finally recoiled through a bridle 16, a louver 17 and deflector rolls 18.
