Abstract
PURPOSE: An inexpensive agricultural film having improved mechanical strength and excellent transparency, prepared by copolymerizing ethylene with an α-olefin in a vapor phase in the presence of a specified catalyst containing Mg and Ti or V.
CONSTITUTION: Ethylene and a 3W12 C α-olefin are copolymerized in a vapor phase in the absence of a solvent in the presence of a catalyst consisting of an organoaluminum compound and a solid substance containing magnesium and titanium and/or vanadium. A film consisting of the thus-produced ethylene/ α-olefin copolymer having a density of 0.890W0.945, a melt index of 0.1W10.0 and an n-value of 1.3W2.0, wherein the n-value is defined by the formula, wherein τ is a shear rate (1/sec, 170°C), τ is a shear stress (dyne/cm2, 170°C) and subscripts 20 and 150 represent loads of 20 and 150kg/cm2, respectively.
