Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to produce a low-density foamed rubber by a method wherein the amount of thermal energy supplied by hot air is set to be larger in a starting period and to be smaller in a finishing period, in a process of vulcanizing a non-gel latex foamed material by hot air.
CONSTITUTION: In a process for producing a foamed rubber wherein a non-gel latex containing sulfur, a vulcanization accelerator, a filler and the like blended therewith is foamed by a foaming maching and the foamed material is vulcanized by hot-air drying, hot air with a larger amount of thermal energy is supplied (either by raising the temperature of the hot air or by increasing the amount of the hot air) in the starting period of the drying vulcanization, while hot air with a smaller amount of thermal energy is supplied (either by lowering the temperature of the hot air or by decreasing the amount of the hot air) in the finishing period of the drying vulcanization. Accordingly, a foamed rubber consisting of a non-gel latex of a high viscosity and having a considerably low density can be produced uniformly.
