Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled stock material which can form molded articles having surface smoothness by injection molding, by a method wherein a rubber powder of a waste tire is made amorphous by treating it with a desulfurizing agent, a specified amount of sulfur is uniformly kneaded with the resulting amorphous rubber powder, a resin having rubberlike elasticity is added to the kneaded mixt., and the resulting mixt. is kneaded at a temp. of not lower than the vulcanizing temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A waste tire is ground to obtain a vulcanized rubber powder which is then treated with a desulfurizing agent to make the rubber powder amorphous. 0.2W2pts.wt. of sulfur is uniformly kneaded with 100pts.wt. of the comorphous rubber powder. Further, 30W100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin havig rubberlike elasticity (e.g. an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin or an ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer resin) is added to the kneaded mixt. The resulting mixt. is kneaded with heating at a temp. of not lower than the vulcanizing temperature to carry out simultaneously mixing and vulcanization of the rubber, whereby the titled stock material can be obtd. The stock material can be molded into a molded article by a conventional injection molding.
EFFECT: The produced molded articles are superior to conventional products in that they do not have surface tackiness.
