Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the covering of uniform thickness on a metal tube having a bead, by extrusion-covering thermoplastic resin incorporated with crosslinking agent on the revolving and proceeding preheated metal tube at the temperature lower than the decomposition temperature of said crosslinking agent, thereafter heating the covered resin above said decomposition temperature and pressing it by rolls. CONSTITUTION:An extruder 3 is arranged obliquely to and toward the proceeding direction of a metal tube 1, and it extrudes molten resin 8 from the flat die 7 at its tip. The resin 8 is wound helically on the outer periphery of the metal tube 1 which revolves and moves. Said resin is incorporated with crosslinking agent and melt-extruded below the decomposition temperature of crosslinking agent and thereafter the resin 8 is heated above the decomposition temperature of crosslinking agent through the heater 9. After heating the pressing roll 10 pushes the resin 8 on the tube surface and further the resin 8 is also pressed during movement by the conveying rolls. However, because the resin 8 is already crosslinked by said heating, the reduction of the covering thickness at the bead part is slight, even though the tube has the bead.
