Abstract

PURPOSE:To take a copy again with regard to a faulty copy without scanning an original again by recording the same original image at two places of a photosensitive belt in a transfer type electrophotographic copying machine, and by developing and transferring another latent image when a copy is in failure owing to the occurrence of a jam. CONSTITUTION:Original images are formed on both top and reverse surfaces of a photosensitive belts 13 by a main optical system 14 and an auxiliary optical system 38. The main latent image is developed by a developing device 22 and then transferred to a form 26 by a transfer charger 23. If a form jams, it is removed and copying is restarted, so that the auxiliary latent image is developed and transferred without the original scanning of the optical systems. The original when the jam occurs has been ejected by a carriage belt 4, but a copy of the original is taken by the auxiliary latent image without returning the original onto exposure glass 2.
