Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a distinct etched design, by sticking an optical curing synthetic resin film, on which a corrosion-inhibiting resist film, a pattern, etc. are formed, to a base metal plate, exposing a part of the base metal plate, on which a design is expected to be formed, by sand blasting, and then etching the exposed metal part.
CONSTITUTION: Liquid glue or the like, having high chemical resistance to an etching solution but low mechanical strength, is applied to a substrate 1 such as a metal plate to form a corrosion-inhibiting resist film 2 having a thickness of 20-100μ. An optical curing synthetic resin film 4, to which a transparent synthetic resin film 13 is applied and from which letters or patterns 5 are punched out, is stuck on the resist film 2. Hard fine particles are blasted to the synthetic resin film 13 by a sand blasting method, to destroy and remove the punched parts 5 of the optical curing synthetic resin film 4. Thus the metal surface of the substrate is exposed. The treated substrate is then dipped in an etching solution to etch the exposed parts. thereafter, the resist film 2 and the optical curing synthetic resin film 4 are stripped from the substrate 1. Thus, a metal plate 1 having etched designs such as letters or patterns on it is produced from the substrate 1.
