Abstract

PURPOSE: To control wire feeding while visually observing welding states and obtain good welding results by starting the wire feeding by the operation of a hand switch, and changing over the wire feeding to the 2nd speed or a crater feed speed by the subsequent switch operations.
CONSTITUTION: In TIG welding or the like, a hand switch 5 is provided to a welding torch 2. A selding signal is emitted in correspondence to the 1st opening and closing of the switch 5, by which welding current is flowed and feeding of a filler wire is started. When the signal of the switch 6 is made a short signal, the welding current switching signal is not emitted, and the wire is fed at the 2nd feed speed by s controller 6 for a certain time limit. When the switch 6 is pushed to emit a long signal, the welding current switching signal is generated, and the wire is changed over to a crater supply speed, whereby crater treatment is accomplished. By this method, the wire supply speed is controlled with ease of operation under visual observation of welding states.
