Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a grid which has an excellent current collecting performance and a small electric resistance by preparing a grid which has an expanded network formed through expanding work, and making the thickness of the part of the grid which is near a current collecting lag to be larger than that of the part of the grid which is distant from the lag. CONSTITUTION:A sheet material made of lead or a lead alloy is subjected to expanding work so as to obtain a grid having a current collecting lag 1, a current-collecting-lag side main bone 2, intermediate bones 3 for holding an active material, and a bottom main bone 4. The thickness, T1, of intermediate bones 3a which are adjacent to the main bone 2 is larger than the thickness, T2, of intermediate bones 3b which are adjacent to the main bone 4.
