Abstract
PURPOSE:To automatically set an optimum fixing temperature, by converting a variation of reactance which is varied in accordance with thickness of a form, into a variation of oscillation frequency by use of an oscillator, detecting a variation of its frequency to discriminate the thickness of paper automatically. CONSTITUTION:For instance, when a form has thickness A, a coil 4 changes to reactance corresponding to the paper thickness A, and the oscillation frequency attains to, for instance, fA, a resonance circuit 21 resonates and a resonance current IA is generated. The resonance current IA generates voltage VA across a resistance 32. On the other hand, a resonance circuit 25 does not resonate, but in case when a current IB' has flowed, voltage VB' is generated across a resistance 36. The voltage VA and VB' are inputted to comparators 42 and 44, respectively, and are compared with reference voltage V1 and V2. As a result, a switching element 50 is turned on, a switching element 52 is turned off, and only a load 54 constituted of a relay, etc. is operated. According to such a constitution, an optimum fixing temperature is set automatically switable for a form which is fed.
