Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the average damping coefft. in an acoustic system as well as the acoustic output, etc. of a sound source directly, automatically and accurately without measuring reverberation time. CONSTITUTION:A generated impulsive sound is converted to an electric signal by a microphone 1, after which the signal is applied to a set average reverberation waveform measuring part 2 which determines the set average reverberation waveform E1(t) of the time when the time (t) elapses after stopping of the impulsive sound through operation of the equation 1. Here, KN: the damping coefft. of N-order surge mode, and A: the proportional constant relating to the acousting output of the sound source. After a transient waveform is measured, the output thereof is applied to a linear differentiation measuring part 3 and a quadratic differentiation measuring part 4 as differentiation waveform measuring parts. In the part 3, it is measured as a differentiation waveform by the equation 2 in the part 3 and by the equation 3 in the part 4. After the differentiation waveforms of the transient waveform are measured by these, these outputs are applied discretely to an arithmetic processing part 5.
